EasyJet
Been an unconfirmed report of potentially 90 cabin crew jobs at risk for Liverpool. Without wanting to start too much speculation, that would result in the loss of about 3 based aircraft. Hopefully not the case for the sake of those staff.

Flyerguy - that really should not be in a public forum

Don’t know why not, the staff clearly know and Easyjet have already announced 5,000 job loses so it isn’t a secret.

Ryanair Liverpool to City of Derry LDY restarting this Saturday 04 July.
Flights twice a week on Saturday and Tuesday. |
Ryanair Liverpool - Dublin also restarted yesterday.
|
Has been some speculation about job losses, however its unlikely that anywhere will pass unscathed during this period. Nothing confirmed regarding aircraft reduction, best to wait and see, rather than speculate.
|
Blue Air is now fly Liverpool - Bucharest route again. A service is due in late tonight.
|
Easyjet
New route, Liverpool - Antalya began yesterday.
|
Easyjet
Liverpool - IOM on Easyjet appears to be returning next month, also Belfast is increasing this month up to 4 per day.

Wizz Air
NEW ROUTE : Liverpool to Vilnius with Wizz starting 22 Oct. Twice weekly.
|
Wizz Air
The Liverpool to Iasi is bookable through to 26 March 2021, some speculation on Twitter that this route was not operating through the winter. It is twice a week. Recently announced Ryanair route to
Kosice twice weekly from 25 Oct 2020 also. |
Wizz Air starting Liverpool to Chisinau from 22 October 2020 with 2x weekly flights
Wizz Air resuming Liverpool to Cluj from 23 October 2020 with 2x weekly flights |
Wizz seem to have their foot firmly on the ground in Liverpool could we possibly see WizzUk launch 1/2 based aircraft here?
I know Blue Air tried ALC/AGP and a few others out of here, but maybe wizz could give give a few routes a go with their expanding U.K. bases |

I see know reason why not and do a similar set up at LPL as they have at DSA
London works due to its enormous catchment, Wizz wanting to prove dominance in the large markets (hence bases in Milan and London) and to take on easyJet. Theres also a political point for Wizz at Gatwick - and wanting to prove a point about slots more than being profitable in a market (which they may do at LGW). Why Doncaster works is there is a lack of competition at the airport. Whilst TUI operate 8 routes which Wizz will operate, they don't rival in product. Whilst they may fly to the same destinations, TUI is for package holidays - normally people who book a year in advance to go away. Wizz are a much more spontaneous buy for the consumer, with shorter booking time and lower prices - aiming at discount savvy travellers whom are happy to put a holiday together and not need every product that TUI offers - ie luggage, hold luggage or sitting together. Liverpool faces competition from two low-cost carriers - easyJet and Ryanair. Whilst all their offering is different, many routes which Wizz would wish to operate from Liverpool would have competition from either or both these airlines. This competition, targeting similar consumers, leads to lower prices (if not loss making prices) and an unsustainable base. It also leads to some routes being overserved by 2-3 carriers whilst many potentially popular routes are less unserved. Wizz would probably be best growing Liverpool with away based aircraft. Most routes at LPL don't have a frequency exceeding 2-3 weekly flights, so demand needs to grow on routes to show there is potential for a base. I wouldn't rule it out but a Wizz Air base may not be best for Liverpool right now - but in the future, there is a real opportunity. |

Although I would love to see Liverpool become a Wizz Air UK base, I think it is unlikely for the foreseeable (opinion only).

In a normal year the popular Med routes like Palma Malaga, Alicante etc are daily or more from both FR and EZY so the sun routes are popular too . However these are strange times, so have to wait and see ! |

My fairly limited useage to Wizz flights leads me to conclude that they are a downmarket version of Ryanair. I have particular concerns about the training and professionalism of the CC, Drunkeness and bawdiness were a concern for me and my travelling companions. Probably ok for stag and hen doooz at the lowest possible price... but even those days are over for now.
