I won't bother posting all of your old stuff but you definitely seem to have a problem. And if you've nothing more recent than two years ago aside from the Telegraph piece last month - and I didn't think Flybe were flying to Barra so the standard of journalism there has to be questioned?!! Let me put it another way - your contributions invariably seem to have a bias in my reading of them. Fares on small turboprops are generally pretty high - just look at routes operated by airlines like Skybus (£105 one-way for a half-hour to the Isles of Scilly) or Eastern and none are what you could call low!

BA to increase capacity on LHR-INV effective summer 18

up 7 to 10 flights per week

SealinkBF 5th Oct 2017 17:49

Great to see a late night departure from Inverness on those extra rotations.

BAladdy 6th Oct 2017 05:26

Wonder if BA will increase the frequency on the LHR service even further for S19. It would be good to see a 3 times daily with a aircraft nightstopping in INV

DANbudgieman 6th Oct 2017 05:40

Gee wouldn't that be just swell. Inverness would only be getting back what it already had before BA swallowed up Dan Air. Nice to see that somebody might be starting to see the light after 25 years or so....

Porrohman 6th Mar 2018 23:37

Tuesday's Flybe flight BE831 from Birmingham was on approach to Inverness when it encountered a "suspected technical fault". It diverted to Edinburgh and squawked 7700. The news report doesn't identify the nature of the issue but the aircraft landed safely with emergency services on standby.

Will the reopening of the old Dalcross railway station have much of an impact on passenger numbers travelling to/from INV?

CabinCrewe 10th Jun 2018 16:20

I would doubt it. People who want to /need to go to INV will be going whether Dalcross reopened or not. It perhaps may make some future journeys easier.

New masterplan published. Includes an option to relocate the terminal to the south of the runway, adjacent to the proposed railway station.

Integrated Rail Air Terminal is required for all the Scottish Airports where the line runs adjacent to the airport, but the opposite side from the current Terminal, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.

bad bear 15th Feb 2021 13:18

Page 5 is interesting, the number of passengers for 2020 appears to incorrect by 90% and everyone in the industry agrees we won't be back to 2019 levels for many years, so, why publish a graph like this in feb 2021 when its clearly wrong and misleading?

SKOJB 15th Feb 2021 15:00

Suggesting near on 2m pax with only 19000 ATM’s, don’t think so!

ATIS31 15th Feb 2021 19:39

All pie in the sky considering where we are just now and will be years before we get back to 2019 passenger levels. At a time where major airports are cancelling expansion plans and yet HIAL is planning expansion !
I would fully expect them to forge ahead with the new terminal idea on the other side of the airport regardless of cost after all it is Inverness !

Skipness One Foxtrot 15th Feb 2021 20:34

I would expect a strong domestic summer and autumn and a very strong return in 2022 as international freedoms are restored. Why so pessimistic?

davidjohnson6 15th Feb 2021 20:37

How much of Inverness' traffic is based around business + inbound tourism from outside the UK.... and how much of it is locally originating leisure traffic ? Have local tourism organisations reported what leisure bookings have been like so far for the summer ? IWhile Cornwall is expecting a strong tourist summer season, I am reluctant to infer that Inverness is similiar)
