On occasion. I’m one of them.

So far there is nothing . And what make you think if Stobart group do an offer, Flybe board will accept it ?
The share is really low currently, worse timing to sell and if I believe all communication they did recently with the new CEO, the reduction of fleet, . I m sure the board believe they can go back on track and so the share will go up .
Or what make you thing if Stobart group buy Flybe it will be all bad . From what I understood, they want to be a major provider in the regional, easy way to do is to buy a big regional airline, Flybe is already losing Aircraft in the next few years (85 last summer, 73 end of 2019 ...) So redundancy .
Just my 2 cents . we will see in less than a months what stobart group will do or not do

It’s not within the boards power to accept or reject any offer. They can of course recommend that shareholders take a particular course of action (in this case they have already advised “do nothing”) but if a formal offer is subsequently made for FlyBe then it has to be put directly to the shareholders.

Flocks 26th Feb 2018 12:16

Yes I know that. When I said the board, I wanted to said the main share holder, I just assumed the main share holder were in the board, what is probably not. I don't really know how Flybe is owned. But I still believe as shareholder it won t be the good timing to sell.

We will see. One more time, I really don't think either if Flybe is sold it won't be a bad stuff. I remembered employees were complaining about aer arann on this forum long time ago, now all my friend in Stobart air are quit happy

Hostile takeovers tend to mean the bidder pays a higher price than otherwise and the management of the target leaves shortly after completion
The result is that hostile takeovers tend to produce a worse return for shareholders of the acquiring company than friendly takeovers

Stobart can go hostile if they want but the Stobart shareholders will be more reluctant. A friendly / agreed takeover will likely do better for all parties involved
