Perhaps IAG might be interested in buying out Thomas Cook UK to expand LEVEL. They operate the same fleet after all and would give them instant expansion with access to aircraft, slots and crews. |
the airline is what has kept the company afloat over the past year, |

Pardon my ignorance, but would this be good or bad for the airline? Immediately strikes me as negative. |

Lufthansa will only be interested in the Condor long haul slots rather than the aircraft themselves. If a sale of Condor does occur. I'd expect the 767's to be turned into Freighters.

Classic Pprune at work here, 'Strategic Review' gets translated by all the armchair experts into a 'sale'; 'they're making a loss' and all sorts of other made up nonsense presented as fact.
TCX is a profitable airline. Proves what I have thought for a while....that the majority of posters on Pprune don't know what they're talking about It's not about rumours any more - just guesswork, speculation and idle gossip the well regarded Condor name |

FFMAN...
Hardly & with this week the Thomas Cook CEO noting the airline division has "great" airport slots inc FRA/MUC/MAN & LGW that has more the appearance of a beauty parade. He also stated they are considering all options when it comes to divestment of individual airline units but could not divulge any more. So hardly speculation on here...Other worthies reporting the "news" includes The Daily Mail...Daily Star...Mirror... & Reuters. Actual stats for Thomas Cook last year are elsewhere recorded as operating profit increased to £129m based on revenue of £3.5b & more than 20m pax carried in 2018. |
G-TCDX operating EXT-KRK-EXT ‘day trip’ today. Anybody know why? Can’t think of any sporting events which might require this particular charter |

My money is on Newmarket. They do lots of day trips to cities around Europe from many UK airports.
|
Not uncommon to see Thomas Cook or Jet2 operating charters to KRK during the winter season.

A330-300 MAN
Does anybody know which A330-300 will be operating out of Manchester this summer? They had a HiFly leased for summer 2018, will it be the same again or one of the Scandinavian fleet? |

Interesting to see long haul ex GLA after this summer has been axed. Retreat to MAN (and maybe LGW). So much for the new SkyCouch! |

Do they/will they still fly to CPT?
|
CPT seasonal only (Like Virgin used to be) it finishes before Easter
|
Spotted yet another very strange one-off flight last night, G-TCVC operated MAN-SCQ-MAN, at 2000 last night, spent 40 minutes on the ground before returning as MT4821. |
It was sent to rescue and recrew G-TCCI that diverted into SCQ on its FRA-VRA trip. Seems to be tech as its still on the ground...

Did that sleeper seat not go down like a lead balloon with ANZ? How does three seats for £200 affect cabin profitibaility and margins on plus premier cabin?! |
The Russian Embassy has tweeted that Thomas Cook is to merge with Russian tour operator Globus (which I think is related to S7) |
That’s a new twist - fake news comes to the aviation industry? |
Definitely a misunderstanding of internal business dealings by the Russian embassy, a quote from the FT reads: ”Thomas Cook said on Friday it would acquire a stake in the tour operating business of Russia’s Biblio Globus through a joint venture with Ionic Invest. The deal will see Thomas Cook spend $3m for a 30 per cent stake in one of the largest tour operators in Russia.” |
