I don't intend this as a vote of confidence or otherwise in IGavion but seats were bookable on those flights when I looked few minutes ago.

Indeed, seems to be working again now, although the 26th April flights appear to have disappeared.

Interesting article, courtesy of Daily Telegraph:

Hey, that's my town you're having a go at Mr Oliver Smith. I'm happy to compare Southend with Milan. Comparison number 1: which has the longer pier?

Good article otherwise but pax numbers should be well beyond one million in 2018.

mikkie4 12th Apr 2018 21:27

the Telegraph mentions GRAN CANARIA as a destination . EZY used to fly there but no longer, unless the newspaper nows something the rest of us dont

It's a great article, but those stats!!!! Scheduled seats available for departure only. Pax numbers declined in 2015/16 from the peak in 2014. More aircraft with lower load factors will ensure Stobart can keep providing the media with their new statistical measure of choice.

Flights from Chateauroux to Lyon and Toulouse were also due to start on 26th April and the timetable now shows those as starting on 2nd May and 29th April respectively.

Perhaps they will keep cancelling flights unless they see full loads booked in.

On that note, I’ve heard Groningen loads have been very weak. Overall pax numbers only slightly up, but now split three ways.

The relaunch of Antwerp seems to be successful. Loads of more than 50 pax are not uncommon. Maybe add a few rotations to Antwerp to make it daily and reduce Groningen to 2 daily.

The main drawback I see with Chateauroux is it rather close to Tours, Poitier and Limoges all with connections to the UK. Lovely area but I would not call it particularly touriste (I have stopped there overnight on the drive up from Spain) but good luck for giving it a try. The airfield is used for storage and maintenance for a number of aircraft the last time I passed through.

The problem with the Groningen schedule is that the aircraft is based there, so cancelling the middle flight would see it sitting there all day. I do think Antwerp will end up daily however. I am not sure that the 50 pax loads are common at the moment, but I am a believer in giving new routes at least one year to see any potential.

As far as I can see today SEN-ANR 62 pax and ANR-SEN 67 pax.

IS THAT GOOD OR BAD

koninckske 13th Apr 2018 13:21

Stobart ATR 72 seatmap shows 70 seats

mikkie4 13th Apr 2018 13:25

if its nearly full that's good ...but is it making money?

Unless you work in the airline commercial department, then that is pure speculation.

Crikey. Speculation on a Rumour Network.

Yep we don't know the yield- they might have given seats away!

TartinTon 13th Apr 2018 16:11

At this early stage they probably don't care....get people trying the service and establish demand before you start squeezing the punters and seeing what you can make stick...if the demand is there then eventually so will the yield...good loads for a new service and must be a source of encouragement.
