Southampton radar

Can anyone through light on why Southampton has no primary radar for two weeks?
Notams say Watchman out of service,is this due to age?,surely it makes the airport vunurable to delays?

At Leeds Bradford in 2004, the Watchman radar head was physically removed and sent away to Luton for refurbishment. During that time, ATC radar cover was the SSR, fed from the NATS site at Claxby. I expect it was NOTAM'ed but I don't suppose there were any significant delays. Perhaps there was a need for increased separation but I can't be sure.

Increase separation due to secondary only radar source and reduced traffic information restricted to other aircraft carrying transponders. I cannot see how it would increase delays apart from keeping aircraft slightly further apart?

Can anyone through any light as to why this isn't on the Southampton thread? surely it makes the forum vulnerable to confusion?

Sorry I have made a mistake not putting on the thread
