Strikes by AENA staff at Spanish airports
The Spanish unions have announced dates for strikes by AENA employees at Spanish airports in protest at the planned privatisation of AENA. Does anyone know if these strikes are likely to go ahead and how much support they are likely to have? Is ATC involved?

Zero support. They're living in the dark ages.
IS this in response to the privatization move (49% of stock to go on sale) announced today, or is this linked to something else?
Demand for shares pushes up Spain's Aena IPO price - sources | Reuters It appears that the two are related. Spanish airport operator unions call 25-day strike from IPO debut | Reuters ATC appears to be one of the AENA/ENAIRE functions. |
AENA Strike
It is in response of Privatisation and the fear that they will have to work harder and make a profit for a change.
Does anyone have the dates of the strikes?
They have been called off according to press reports here in Spain
Flying to ALC next Monday so really hope they have been called off.
Yes, I can confirm the strike action has been called off, but some demonstrations against the privatisation are due to be held over the coming weeks.

Good! I will show my solidarity by downing a couple of bottles of Rioja whilst in Spain.
Why not, it is rather good and it is considerably cheaper here in Spain compared to the UK!
Indeed..Mercadona`s own brand Rioja is excellent at 1e 68ish a bottle..Hopefully shall be downing some myself next month :ok:
I shouldn´t but I will- Eroski have a rather nice red at 1e 49 but has been on offer at 1e 29 (under one pound). Oh by the way Castellon Airport is now fully operational and has handled several flights including the Villereal football team when there are playing away.
