I doubt customers know or care whether it is a mainline crew that operate an EDI-LCY flight (for example). What difference does it make to them? Can they book on BA.com? Can they collect their points? Does their company have an account with BA or flybe? Do they get lounge access?

Personally I would rather go BACF any day. Flying props is way more fun then jets, however as a pax I would choose to fly on an Embraer with BA every time over a flybe Dash 8 delta.

I am a massive fan of the current fan flybe management team, and wish I had bought the stock at 63p, but to think it is going to be easy money for them at LCY as they have a perceived lower operating cost base (really? Says who?) is somewhat optimistic I think.

Do BACF make money? DO BA care? How much cheaper will flybe really be? Not working for flybe or BA/BACF I have no vested interested but think this could be costly for flybe, particularly using the Dash 8 into LCY.

Cityjet turn the heat up by increasing DUB-LCY up to 9 times daily. Previously up to 7 daily.

So, the big FlyBe launch is tomorrow. Anyone know who the new routes are selling?

irishlad06 26th Oct 2014 22:20

Bhd has been in operation for 1 week already with an average of 65% load factor each day.

Load factor tomorrow morning is 96% on BHD-LCY

TartinTon 26th Oct 2014 22:29

EDI has been flying since 06Oct with load factors in the 80% +

wallp 26th Oct 2014 22:36

Ah ok, London City have been tweeting all day about routes being launch tomorrow

TartinTon 26th Oct 2014 22:49

I think tomorrow is when the press have been invited and les grandes fromages from head office will be in attendance!

Skipness One Echo 26th Oct 2014 23:43

Haven't seen a single BE flight on website Arrivals or Departures, have they not been loaded?

TartinTon 27th Oct 2014 08:34

Not sure where you're looking Skippy...flights showing on Flybe and LCY websites arrivals pages

There was nothing on there yesterday, mind you there was no sign of flybe at LCY yesterday! I have the screenshot somewhere...

Eastern S2000 G-CERZ has swapped BA titles for Eastern ones so I assume CFE are only operating G-CDEB again?

Flybe starts Dublin to London City flights

Nice picture, like the comment on the engine: "faster than road or rail".

Doesn't really apply on LCY-DUB/LCY-BHD. Ho hum.

We want the new BE services from LCY to be successful, so come on you Cockneys, use them, and use them often.

Skipness One Echo 27th Oct 2014 23:43

Um Frank, there's precious few left around E14 nowadays. Tis more Bangladeshi, and not really aimed at the local market.

I used to live there 'til last week......

Calmcavok 28th Oct 2014 20:52

Cockneys aren't from east London. Bow Bells is in the City.

I am not sure if this has been covered in the various Flybe or LCY threads however whilst at London City this afternoon I noticed that the ABZ -LCY route is being operated by Loganair in the shape of G-LGNO which is named Pride of Aberdeen. From a quick look at Flightradar it seems that it has been operating this for a few days.

I wonder is this because of a shortage of Q400s or is it a case of using the smaller aircraft because of the load factors?

NickBarnes 14th Nov 2014 20:30

It's been used for the forseable future as far as I'm aware

Grizzle 16th Nov 2014 10:56

LGNO

It will likely cease with the opening of the new ABZ base and the arrival of the RA Q400s at the end of March or beginning of April next year
