BA Terminal 5 from 31/03/2013

Anyone know how BA are going to squeeze in the Routes transferring from T1/T3 into T5 when the summer timetable starts?
I see the logic of keeping B767 operations at one terminal, how does it work with baggage handling? - I believe most of the former BD 320s are fitted for containerised baggage.
Also, is there a cost saving?
Menzies Ramp handling at T1 versus BAs own at T5.
Can remote stands on the T3 side of control tower be used for T5 flights?

Yes

Yes to most of that 'remote' stands are already in use. BA ramp costs are more expensive than the independents, however, I think it is only a matter of time until ramp / check-in is outsourced anyway. That is the plan and the costs savings will for a while be significant.

All Airbus BA fleet are containerised and T5 can manage to handle more passengers, the issue is when the systems fail.

BA ex BD Airbus

Hi just to keep us all honest not all A319,320,321 are bins for BA not sure if
This is because BD owned them or not.

5-6 ex BD A319s are off to LGW and BA have to give up slots to VS etc as per the conditions of the BMI deal so there's space. The ex bmi A319s are non containerised as I believe are the A321s? Some of the A320s are containerised, however the ones that can't take bins seem to be T1 based.
