Six BA, four parked on the hangar line plus two more on the east apron, which is where the finair ended up.

787 fire at LHR

Just a quick question but does anybody know what training the firefighters have received at LTN regarding dealing with composites a/c .?
I know it is unlikely the 787 will appear at LTN anytime soon and Thomson must be concerned with what is going on at the moment but curious if it is a standard training or anything specific that they have undertaken.

kala87 14th Jul 2013 21:59

A couple of questions. FlightStats often show an Air France and/or Turkish Airlines A310 freighter arriving from Paris and departing to Istanbul at around 0200-0300 local. Do these flights actually operate or is it in reality an MNG operation?

Also, Royal Jordanian seem to be operating in and out fairly often in the past month, to and from Amman or Camp Springs wherever that is in the US. Is this an Airbus operation?

Thanks

Defruiter 15th Jul 2013 03:46

They fly with an MNG callsign.

I would imagine every airport capable of landing a 787 in the UK has had relevant training, if not covered in their existing training...

As one might need to make an emergency landing at anytime, regardless of where it flying from or going to.

The Jordan flights seem to have been operated by Jordan Aviation A320 in a very distinctive colour scheme. Turkish have operated the A310 in themselves, It tends to vary. Even an MNG A330 has done the flight before.

787

Wasn't the talk of the TUI hangar being modified to accept a 787 if need be? If so the airport would have to be skilled up to accept it.

LTNman 15th Jul 2013 16:56

I am surprised TUI's 787 hasn't been to its home base even to say hello to their HQ staff.

LGS6753 15th Jul 2013 18:41

The Jordanian Airbus is operated by Jordan Aviation, and has been subbing for Blue Air from/to Bucharest and Bacau.

Royal Jet are a regular user, and have sent a number of Exec Jets in recently - not sure of destinations.

The MNG flights often carry AF and BA designators. There was a rumour some time ago of Turkish Airlines starting A310 freighter flights, but I am unsure whether these have come to fruition. Timings were dark o'clock.

A couple of easyJet ´´red-eye´´ departures tomorrow morning - 0420 Mikanos and 0530 Corfu. Brings back memories of Court Line 1-11s!

£50 that neither of them go at that time.... good old Greeks on one of their 'strikes' again! :E

Of course, unless they've been rescheduled to avoid the strikes.

Happy Birthday!

Thanks for the info on the Jordan LGS. I can confirm that the Turkish A310 has been in atleast 3 times.. Seen it fly over the house, The tail is always lit up so you can see the Logo.

Ifield lad 4 engined prop? There was a C130 hercules with "Oil spill" written on it.. I cant help you with reg's or anything because I dont take them but I am 99% sure it was an Air Contractors machine?

OLNEY 1 BRAVO 16th Jul 2013 11:04

Clarifications!!

The MNG flights are on A300's not A310's (MNG do not operate A310's) and operate IST-CDG-LTN-IST in the early hours of Wednesday and Friday.

MNG also operate a cargo 737-400 IST-LTN-IST late on Sunday evening.

Royal Jordanian - the flights that Kala87 refers to have been operated by the Jordanian Government Gulfstream 650 which uses a Royal Jordanian callsign.

The Hercules on Sunday was indeed an Air Contractors example.

:ok:

The Turkish 310's have definitely been in, I guess they were on their own flights and not operating for MNG.. Would have been an odd dream to have multiple times. :p
