Timmy W your constant attempts to stir up negativity re Doncaster Sheffield airport are rather tiresome. Constant little digs. Try to move on eh?

Im asking a genuine question
Im not alone in thinking theyll be off as soon as the leases expire |
Well I suppose it's the use it or lose it thing. Thomson have endured, despite or possibly because of people complaining it's dearer from DSA than surrounding airports. Wizz certainly seem to like it.
|
I do think the link road will be something of a game changer for DSA. It will make eg Sheffield close enough for friends and family to drop passengers off without it being a major hassle. Previously this wasn't the case.
If you live in central Sheffield you can conceivably leave your home 2 hrs before your flight is due to leave and arrive at the airport with 90 mins to spare. Even allowing for traffic you should still be safe. You can't do that if you are flying from EMA, LBA or MAN. |

If they are coining it at DSA, and less so at another base then obviously they may wish to move resources into DSA from another base, or perhaps replace the 195s with more efficient aircraft - or I suppose they might have a change of heart if the lessor finds the 195s hard to place, and makes Flybe an offer they can't refuse. Time alone will tell. |
I'm a "DSA fan" but certainly doubt that all the routes will remain - there are some pretty strange ones there. Whether it's FlyBe's intention to make a long term commitment to DSA once the leases expire remains to be seen. But they have certainly spent a few quid on advertising the routes.

The whole EU situation could play a big part going forward, especially in the case of Wizz.

However for the medium term, people working at airports up and down the country might to think carefully about which way to vote for their medium / long term job security. |
Long-term a Brexit would impact Wizz. There would be fewer East Europeans guest workers and more from India, Jamaica, Australia etc. But yes, like ATNotts says, nothing would change for a few years

How much longer do they have on the lease for the 195s? The whole EU situation could play a big part going forward, especially in the case of Wizz. |
SWBKCB
In my opinion Timmy makes a valid point unless your not a realist. |
Maybe, but that's for Jetblast and not the DSA thread.
I was making a more general point about the style of Timmy's post. |
I took advantage of the arrival of Flybe to book a short trip to Amsterdam at the end of the month. I travel by car from the East Coast as no one will take me. When I check the cost of parking my car for a little more than 50 hours, they want to charge me £40. I checked the train times found I could go by public transport so booked a train to Doncaster. On checking the bus timetable there is only 1 bus each hour but at the time I arrive at Doncaster, I have to wait 1 hour 15mins. It seems they miss a hour at that time of the morning. (unless I have read the timetable wrong)
The point is, I will not be booking any more flights from there. PS Flew from LPL (same owner) last month and it cost £37 for 7 days! |
Yes but what did the replacement car wheels cost?

The half hourly First service was withdrawn last month. |
