Maybe has to do with the Air Lithuanica contract continuing and the need to release an aircraft for that.

Maybe it's something to do with the price of oil? It's predicted to remain low for most if this year!

lplsprog 2nd Mar 2015 10:05

If thats true how come the petrol prices have started to rise again?

davidjohnson6 2nd Mar 2015 17:40

lplsprog - have a Google on 'Brent forward curve'. Jobs in Aberdeen depend on the price of a barrel of crude; petrol prices have a lot of additional factors which do not correlate well against the health of Aberdeen's job market.

More shifts of frames around the network?
Based on current schedule the following number of aircraft will be based at the following airports

ABZ - 2 aircraft (1 x ER3 & 1 x ER4)
BRS - 5 aircraft (1 x ER3 & 4 x ER4) - 1 x ER4 ops for SN
EMA - 1 aircraft (ER3)
KID - 1 aircraft (ER4)
KSD - 1 aircraft (ER4)
MUC - 2 aircraft (2 x ER4)
NCL - 1 aircraft (ER4)

Leaving 1 x ER3 and 4 x ER4 aircraft spare. Does anyone know where BM base standby aircraft?.

NOP 2nd Mar 2015 19:55

You've also got the Airbus aircraft, CEG/TLS.

Another is out in BRE, and the one on contract in VNO.

The spares are based in ABZ and BRS

cornishsimon 2nd Mar 2015 20:04

You have to assume that BM will be looking at adding a frame(s) to the fleet in the not too distant future.

Well there are plenty ER3's and ER4's parked up around the world looking for new homes. Maybe BM might introduce the 44 seat ERJ140 as a new variant.

NOP 2nd Mar 2015 20:23

They do have a 48 seat variant of the ER4!

Deep and fast 3rd Mar 2015 12:44

There were a load of Dniproavia ones parked at Warsaw last time I was there. With the fall in fuel prices, the small regional jets may be in with a fighting chance on thin routes again.

BRS-DUS

Good to see BM launching another German route from BRS, this time to DUS.

BAladdy 27th Apr 2015 02:59

Today sees the launch of BM's new services from BRS to CDG and DUS. Anyone know what the loads are like on the flights today and does anyone know how well the flights are selling?

055166k 27th Apr 2015 16:19

Just to cheer you up...my wife, her mother and I are all booked to DUS in June. FLYBE dumped the service from Southampton which we used......we would rather pay a little more and drive to Bristol rather than endure the heaving masses at Gatwick....besides...the Embraer is like a little Exec jet....makes us feel a bit special!!!....and baggage....novelty these days!!
Good luck.

Bristol_Traveller 10th May 2015 14:01

I was on MUC-BRS on 08MAY (the afternoon flight - BM1846) and it was quite well loaded with about 30PAX. Hopefully this is broadly representative of loads. (I was booked on an LH H fare, which is quite a high fare class, so good revenue).

I'm on some more BM flights in the coming months, so I'll keep an eye on the loads.

davidjohnson6 22nd May 2015 16:39

Until today (22 May), was bmir still operating a wet lease for Air Lituanica ?
If so, anyone want to guess how the, now spare, aircraft will be used ?

bravoromeosierra 22nd May 2015 17:23

I predict 6 daily flights between Cardiff and Bristol.

BAladdy 22nd May 2015 17:26

I think G-RJXF was the last aircraft to operate flights for them. It has been operating BM services out of BRS since last week
