L1649 24th Nov 2016 18:42

LC, LD, and LU have also been withdrawn/scrapped.

Leeds Spotter 25th Nov 2016 14:32

L1949: I did not include these three aircraft as left the fleet last year.
At the moment I think the Jet2 733/738 fleet has 49 aircraft having a total age of 921 years giving an average of 18.8 years (includes 5 new aircraft)
757 fleet has 11 aircraft with a total age of 288 years average 26.18
Total 1209 years, 60 aircraft 20.15 years
If you assume the 10 oldest aircraft will be replaced this will be the 733/738 age down to 12.67, this could be the position in a years time.

Wycombe 25th Nov 2016 16:04

20.15 years
Don't worry, leaving aside 380's and 787's, Big Airways fleet is probably just as old!

MKY661 26th Nov 2016 13:32

According to another forum, another three might be leaving this winter. Not sure which ones though.

LW, the pure freighter probably one of them

Jetaway 27th Nov 2016 20:54

Now I'm not one to read too much into this as the source is wikipedia but according to the website jet2 will be starting flights to SFB from MAN, BHX, LBA, (and i think if it were true its a mistake) LHR all starting in 2017. Now whilist I wouldnt trust this rumour as far as I could throw it. Does anyone have any idea how this came about?

LAX_LHR 27th Nov 2016 21:06

It's the same person who has added it to several pages, but, I don't trust it.

Beanjet 4th Dec 2016 00:17

Anyone know if Jet2 will be leasing any aircraft from titan again next summer?

JB007 5th Dec 2016 01:02

Yes, A321 will be returning to MAN! A B757 also expected but cant tell you which base!

irishlad06 5th Dec 2016 03:33

The B752 titan aircraft will either be based at LBA or STN. There will also be a A330-200 to be based at MAN. Operator to be officially confirmed.

JB007 5th Dec 2016 19:18

Not claiming to know what goes on within the halls of piled up portacabins, but I think Jet2 branded aircraft will be prioritised at new bases...

crewmeal 6th Dec 2016 05:37

but I think Jet2 branded aircraft will be prioritised at new bases...
I'm pretty sure aircraft will be rotated around the bases for engineering reasons.

JB007 6th Dec 2016 07:32

'm pretty sure aircraft will be rotated around the bases for engineering reasons
I'd heard they didn't want wet/damp leased aircraft at the new bases! Jet2 & Jet2 Holiday branded aircraft only is my point!

Edited as new info reveals this thinking may have changed in the peak summer months!

P330 18th Dec 2016 18:57

Aircraft type and route

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to find the Jet2 aircraft type for a particular route next year?

Don't you just select the flight on their website and try to book a seat... Surely that'll give you a clue.

canberra97 19th Dec 2016 14:07

That's too easy for some!

azz767 19th Dec 2016 14:33

Seeing as titan are getting an A330 next year, is it too logical to assume that's where the Jet2 330 is coming from?

paully 19th Dec 2016 14:47

Seems perfectly logical...Uk reg so a lot less red tape..Interesting where Titan are sourcing their 330 from. Time will tell

sam dilly 20th Dec 2016 11:55

Titan are keeping the 767, so could it be that aircraft ?

Flying Wild 20th Dec 2016 13:19

The 330 is coming from AirTanker. Thought that had already been mentioned?

Beanjet 20th Dec 2016 14:21

Will it be operated with jet2 cabin crew or all air tanker crew?

daz211 20th Dec 2016 15:43

Brilliant news for Stansted
An additional aircraft and 4 news routes bringing Stansted base to 7 Aircraft and including winter flight brings bookable routes to 27 with additional seats capacity on some already announced sun routes

David Sharpe 22nd Dec 2016 11:30

It looks like Stansted and Leeds Bradford have gained from the latest batch of flights to be released. Over 900 Departures per week (923 to be exact)now loaded for the peak season based on August 2017. There are 4 new routes from Stansted (as well as a few frequency increases) where the new flights at Leeds Bradford are all increased frequencies on existing routes.

Jet2 have ordered a further 4+ Boeing 737-800NG aircraft from the US manufacturer in a deal worth £312 million, This is additional to the 30+ aircraft ordered by Jet2 in 2015.

Deliveries of the 4+ aircraft are due between August 2018 and January 2019.

LBIA 27th Dec 2016 11:23

Jet2 are leasing a further 2x Boeing 737-800's next summer along with the Titan Airbus A321 and Air Tanker Airbus A330.

Air Europa aircraft to be based in Palma, other will come from Primera to be based East Midlands.

Quote:

Big earners like MAN, BHX and STN (maybe EDI) will attract the new aircraft first
From what we have been told, next year will see the new aeroplanes in exactly these bases. I know nothing of the supposed "big earners", however there is a strategy behind ring fencing the new aeroplanes to certain bases at first, that is the requirement of different sets of spares, by putting the aeroplanes in just the 3 locations, there is no requirement to have more spares in the system at other bases.
2 "new" ones based at Newcastle at the moment - is there really any differentiation between "new" and "old" model 738's when it comes to basing?

Johnny [email protected] Pants 28th Dec 2016 14:52

As detailed in what you quoted SWBKCB, the new aeroplanes require some additional spares over and above the norm, so, to answer your question -

is there really any differentiation between "new" and "old" model 738's when it comes to basing?
- Yes.

LiamNCL 29th Dec 2016 13:32

Think its only NCL MAN & LBA that have the new aircraft at the moment

irishlad06 29th Dec 2016 14:40

EMA is also due to receive one in the coming week. HN according to current plans.

garry8g 5th Jan 2017 18:24

Is there no news/word of Jet2 buying any second hand B737-800's this year?

I would have thought that with the expansion(an additional 11 aircraft between Birmingham & Stansted alone) and the retirement of quite a few B737-300's(I think 5 so far last year), that an intake of some second hand aircraft was necessary?

I know that there has been 8 new B737-800's delivered, and 4 due shortly, but with 5 300's gone(and possibly more to follow), the numbers don't add up.

Council Van 5th Jan 2017 18:43

Still 5 months till the Summer peak so plenty of time for more new aircraft to pitch up from Renton.

HH6702 5th Jan 2017 22:07

5 aircraft are being leased this year so how many short ?
I've heard that 14 new planes will have been received before end of may 2017

LBIA 6th Jan 2017 23:57

Jet2 leasing 5x aircraft next summer.

5x aircraft been leased by Jet2 this summer.

MAN 1x = A330 - RAF/Air Tanker
MAN 1x = A321 - Titan Airways
EMA 1x = B738 - Primara
PMI 1x = B738 - Air Europa
STN 1x = A320/B752 - Titan Airways

16x Boeing 737-8MG's will have be delivered before April. For operational reasons 3x will be based LBA with the remaining 13x other split elsewhere in the network. You won't see either G-GDFF or G-GDFJ at LBA unless for Mx reasons.

Anyone know why G-GDFM just positioned to EGKK?

Charter to SXF

El Bunto 13th Jan 2017 07:45

Last few days of mail service from Belfast for G-CELW. I believe the last revenue flight is EXS001F inbound on Sunday morning, will presumably depart empty after that.

Council Van 13th Jan 2017 07:52

No more post office flIghts time tabled in to Belfast, infact it appears that the aircraft was scheduled to position to Leeds at 5.30 this morning.

El Bunto 13th Jan 2017 08:38

Ah you're quite correct, that's a pity as I was planning to watch it on Sunday! Showing airborne on FR24 at 09:40 as EXS033E to Leeds. What about G-CELO in Edinburgh, last day too?
