When will these charters end?

The latest jet G-LSAN comes from Bogota, Columbia. I belive that the management are hoping to find at least 10 keys of 'nose candy' during the refit to help pay the lease.:O

DjerbaDevil 9th Mar 2012 15:37

The latest jet G-LSAN comes from Bogota, Columbia.
Could it be the ex-AeroGal (Ecuador) B757-2K2 (WIN); 608/26635; Reg: HC-CIY? It is rumoured to have had an engine problem.

MKY661 17th Mar 2012 11:42

Jet2 have just got two more 733's GDFG & GDFK. Bloomin heck how many planes are Jet2 getting this winter? its been a lot i'll tell you that.

righthandrule 17th Mar 2012 13:51

3 737-300 additions as well as one purchased, which was on lease last year, 2 737-800's and a 757.

G-GDFB (was leased in last year, now has J2hols colours) 733
G-GDFG (ex Norweigan) 733
G-GDFH (ex Norweigan) 733
G-GDFK (ex estonian air) 733
G-GDFF (ex Air Europa) 738
G-GDFJ (ex Thomson) 738
G-LSAN (no idea where it is from) 752

Now the UK's 4th/5th largest airline by fleet size (depending on how many Thomson actually operate this year)

MKY661 17th Mar 2012 15:00

Wasnt an ex TOM 733 supposed to come as well?

Espada III 18th Mar 2012 15:40

Well indeed a load more legroom, but partly wasted by inability to recline the seats and the fact that the arm rest bases project beyond the lumber portion of the seat making lying down across all three rather uncomfortable. Not sure it is worth the money they charge, but nicer than standard seats.

It is indeed HC-CIY from AeroGal.

GDFK & LSAD have also been painted into Jet2Holidays colours. Does anyone know when these 737's begin service some have been stored for a while and left with?

LBIA 21st Mar 2012 23:10

B757-200WL, G-LSAK has been re-painted into Jet2 holidays colours and positioned into Leeds from Norwich this evening.

At LBA B737-300, G-GDFG is currently inside the Multiflight hanger along with B737-300, G-CELB. B737-800, G-GDFJ is parked outside awaiting to go into the hanger along with B737-300, G-GDFK which is parked on Stand 17.

B737-300, G-CELF has returned from Belgrade and is at Manchester getting a repaint meanwhile B737-300's, G-CELG, G-CELO, G-GDFB and G-GDFH are all still down in Belgrade having there C-checks done.

chaps2011 21st Mar 2012 23:28

Wow quite impressive

G-LSAK has been painted in the basic blue and white Jet2holidays colours but without any Jet2 identification. Large RAK Airways titles have been applied for its forthcoming return to its base at Ras Al Khaimah until June.

Jet2Holidays?

Berlin - winter

Hi, does anybody know if Jet2 will fly to Berlin this winter from Leeds? Or from anywhere else in the North? Thanks.

apaul 22nd Mar 2012 21:24

It does not look like it. EasyJet flies from Manchester and it has just released flights till late February.

TCX69 22nd Mar 2012 22:54

Why are more & more aircraft being painted into that AWFUL Jet2 Holidays livery?! :ugh: I'm so surprised Allegiant don't have something to say about it! That blue just clashes so much with the red & silver.

SCANDIC 23rd Mar 2012 16:26

Is anyone going to do a posky repaint of G-LSAD in its new colours for fs2004.

take-off 25th Mar 2012 21:38

Think it has been said on here before, that the new colours have had a more favourable response off the customers, besides they suit the holiday side better of the firm better:ok:

On another note is there a reason with LS754 is heading to alicante from faro rather than blackpool tonight, as that is what it is showing on planefinder and on flight radar?:uhoh:

Checked on blk airport showing a 1am arrival, on man arrivals its showing 2am:ooh:

Mech 320 26th Mar 2012 19:31

LS754

ls754 was rescuing stranded pax bound for GLA after a/c went tech. Diverted to ALC en route then flew into MAN arriving just after 2am.

take-off 26th Mar 2012 22:09

That'll have been a fun journey for the pax on from faro. Definitely got their monies worth from that flight:ok::ok:

righthandrule 26th Mar 2012 22:30

Good job it was the first of the season, only 9 on it!

EGCC7955 28th Mar 2012 06:31

I see MON have entered into direct competition with LS on the 0730 VCE on a Tue & Thurs by operating a ZB at the same dep time, that's a stunt I'd expect to have seen from the likes of EZY or RYR but not from MON

take-off 28th Mar 2012 07:51

anybody know whats up with LS177 on way to alicante when it turned back over channel to land in gatwick?

MANTFS 28th Mar 2012 15:39

Heard an LS diverting to Lgw this morning due to a medical emergency - I presume it was this one

It will be interesting to see who wins as Jet2 are really going for it on the Manchester - Venice route as they have upgraded it to being operated by a mix of 757, 738 and 733 aircraft compared to last year where it was only 733's apart from the odd Saturday. Bookings look to be extremely good, however only the bosses know how much money is actually being made.

jamesferns 28th Mar 2012 17:07

All things being equal i expect MON would come out on top, however if jet 2 can beat them on price then thats going to have an impact , you might get a more upmarket product with ZB but at the end of the day cost is a big factor

lagerlout 28th Mar 2012 19:08

Have you flown MON recently?

They are no more upmarket than LS & EZY these days. People need to actually take MON scheduled for what they are instead of thinking back to the halcyon MON charter days!!

Shiver me timbers! 30th Mar 2012 18:20

Where are all J2's 757s at the moment? Not seen many flying? Are they stored for winter?

MKY661 30th Mar 2012 18:49

There has been a lot flying but maybe because it was the winter months they dont use them as much. :)

chaps2011 30th Mar 2012 20:18

There have been many Jet2 aircraft through maintenance over the winter plus a
much smaller programme than summer.
I was at MAN on Wednesday (always a quiet day out of season for Jet2) lunch time 9 Jet2 were parked plus what ever were flying which was probably 4 or 5

scodaman 27th Apr 2012 23:27

Hi all,

Looking to fly to Pisa with Jet2

However, I notice on their website that Pisa is described as 'Pisa (Florence)'

Does anyone know if it is Pisa airport or Florence airport that they fly to?

thanks,

scodaman

PPRuNeUser0176 28th Apr 2012 01:17

They fly to Pisa Airport.

AirGuru 29th Apr 2012 16:27

Seen some more wiki vandalism earlier on the CWL page, claiming that Jet2 were to begin operations from CWL in the summer of 2013. Flights were said to be operated on a W pattern from BFS, with flights to Faro, Funchal, Murcia and Mahon. He also stated that the BFS sector was to be bookable.

Any truth at all in this if anyone can help me out ? Or is it just another simple case of wiki vandalism which is rife these days !

planenut321 29th Apr 2012 16:51

Wikipedia.

The (un)reliable online resource. :E

david1994 29th Apr 2012 17:36

According to my sources in Jet2 Ops in LBA they are planning for S13 to introduce flights from CWL on W patterns from BFS + GLA but will depend very much on aircraft availability / days / times, Jet2 is still confirming their summer schedule so I guess only time will tell...
