Airport Inducements to Carriers
The news that the new Corvera [Murcia] airport has recruited 500 staff, with training to start shortly, prior to next year's opening, but without, as yet, having a single confirmed carrier opertaing from it, has got me thinking.
Imagine you were someone called, for the sake of argument, Ryan O'Michael, and were the CEO of a large LoCo carrier. What inducements/operating practices would you be looking for, in order to be persuaded to start operating from a new airport? I have listed a few possibilities below - anyone have any other suggestions?

I think in Spain it is the local government who are paying a sort of marketing grant to airlines, they feel that incentivising airlines to serve the airports will bring tourists and this may be more effective than additional marketing of Spain abroad. EI-BUD |
Surely all Murcia Nueva needs is a NOTAM saying San Javier returns to military ops wef......:ok:
