The "relationship" with EI is virtually non-existent, really.

EI-BUD 31st Aug 2008 13:26

EI-CFC why do you say this? BA have had quite a bit of communication with bmi since the BMed sale and even with this BA still use EI instead of Bmi to feed passengers through Heathrow (Via BA Website), I think that Willie Walsh wants to see EI get on and he and Dermot Mannion have a mutual interest.

I would think more the opposite really. Don't think there's much love lost between wee willie and his ex employer.

Indeed, me either. WW couldn't care if EI lives or dies, to be honest.

Might have been different if EI were still in Oneworld but they're not.

With regard to the second "OS" aircraft shortly coming into service,(first test flight next week apparently),some guys at work who have seen it being fitted out, say that this one has a greater number of "club" seats fitted and is basically in a "two class" config!
In respect of this, can anyone shed any light as to the present load factors for the current BA aircraft operating out of Paris?.....Wasn't this in a three class config??.
With the increased capacity of "club" seats on the latest a/c, is it now to be assumed that "OS" is thriving as a project?,or is it just a possibility that BA see Amsterdam as a better bet for more business travellers??.

OPenSkies is nothing to do with being a commercial success, so there is no point debating configs. It will never make money, especially in the current economic climate. The business jet model has proved to have failed, so why does BA think it has something special?

OS is simply a vehicle to tear up all exisitng T&C's of current BA employees.

On the 31st of July the dutch aviation news website luchtvaartnieuws.nl published an article about the fact that OS was dropping it's economy class: Luchtvaartnieuws: dagelijks actueel luchtvaartnieuws

It says that the thirty economy class seats will be replaced by 12 PREM+ seats. They also mention that the second aircraft(the first without economy) will be placed on the Paris route and that Amsterdam will get the aircraft with economy class at first but will also go to business-only "later on". However when you take a look in their booking system it seems that both aircraft will operate with only biz and prem+ this winter.
