Southampton A/P on Xmas Day...
 

Wonder if anyone knows what's going on...

My girlfriend is meant to be on an AF flight from CDG to SOU & has had her flight cancelled having been told SOU is "closed".

1. Is SOU closed on Xmas Day normally?
2. Has SOU been staturated with diversions & "closed" for that reason?
3. WX not seemingly an issue, but is the instrument app out of action for some reason...?

In any of these case, why not divert to BOH, which is open, right?

All sounds like usual AF "can't be bothered / je m'en foutism" to me, but anyone know the real story?!?!?

In their "wisdom", they are sending her to LHR instead...er, sounds like a bright idea.

Southampton is closed today, thats probably why the flight has been canx'd.

Southampton airport has NEVER opened on Xmas Day. I find it hard to believe that AFR have sold a seat on a flight which isn't and NEVER was operating.

BOH NEVER opens on Xmas day.

I can 'third' that :) - AFR must have known the airport would be closed as many of the 'smaller' airports do and like the others have said SOU has never been open on Christmas day. Seems AFR have been naughty :=
