Navigational Route - Singapore to Adelaide
Forum, may I ask a general question please?
Would an airliner flying (generally) from Singapore (WSSS) to Adelaide (YPAD) cross the Australian coast line near Broome (YBRM) and/or Pt Hedland (YPPD) and then track to Ceduna (YCDU) and onto Adelaide or track through Whyalla (YWHA) to Adelaide. From what I see, Ceduna is "west" of Adelaide and therefore the "westerly" wind could aid flight conditions? Thanks for any insight Regards Mike McInerney |
Nope. cross YPDN , pass A.Springs and all the way down to YPAD! Oz atc are a helpful bunch , having RNAV/AUsep/RVSM/RNP4 helps too.

Thanks for that reply lefthandseat.

Mike, I fly Sin-Mel quite a lot and the routes will vary to optimise flt time. I have flown the route mentioned above but I have also flown further west over Port Hedland to take advantage of the stronger winds further south. We fly overhead Adelaide every time.
