Those LS ones are news to me, the way I understand it its the a/c currently based (2x B757-200 + 1x B737) plus an extra 737

I.e. 2x 757, 2x 737

But once again I may be mistaken given that I tend to find out information that then changes about 3 times but I dont seem to find out about the changes

ematom1 24th Oct 2012 19:18

apparently on the jet2 forum it says from looks of seating plans its 1 757 1 737-800, 2 737-300 was a suprise to me but who knows until its confimed hope its 2 757's 1 737-800 1 737-300 but not certain was hopeing someone could confim it or not :)

Bmi Regional are due to announce further expansions from the spring and East Midlands is thought to be included in that so they may be another one of theirs to come.

Ryanair do not have their summer 2013 schedule ready yet, only a few flights are released so it's not yet possible to tell how many they will have. They had 7 for a few years but that fell the just 6 for this summer although there were more flights operated by aircraft not based at East Midlands so the number of flights remained about the same. The winter 2012/2013 season seems to be slightly better than their winter 2011/2012 one so if a 7th aircraft were to return for summer 2013, especially with BmiBaby now gone, it wouldn't be too surprising.

OliWW 24th Oct 2012 19:40

Hasn't been confirmed what FR will have for next summer, I've heard Thomson will be down to all 738 as well.

ematom1 24th Oct 2012 19:45

Like the Tom 757 too :( what's for winter for Tom, Tcx, and mon anyone know? Some BMI new routes would be good :)

redED 24th Oct 2012 21:13

BE start as 2 x DHC8 before switching to EMB175 next year I believe.

Burnie5204 24th Oct 2012 21:33

Ematom, dont forget EMA will have the 787 operating into EMA on more routes than the 767s did

ematom1 25th Oct 2012 01:29

I thought the 787 was only operating to Orlando and cancun same as the 767 did?

FCAcrewboy 25th Oct 2012 19:07

Winter 2012 TOM is x2 737-800
Summer 2013 TOM confirmed as 787 operating Tuesday CUN and Wednesday SFB every week. No 767 in 2013 unless 787 tech.
X3 737-800. No 757 as these are being phased out by Thomson base by base

righthandrule 25th Oct 2012 19:29

Jet2 will base 1 x 757, 1 x 737-800 and 2 x 737-300's as previously mentioned rather than 2 x 757's and 2 x 737-300's. This is due to several 757's leaving the fleet and and increasing additions to the 737-800 fleet.

From Travel Mole:

Air France and Flybe expand codeshare

Air France has signed a new codeshare partnership with Flybe to launch a service from East Midlands Airport to the rest of the world via Paris.
The twice-daily service will start on October 28, operated with Bombardier Q400, 78 seat aircraft.

ematom1 26th Oct 2012 01:27

Sad to see the 757's going, 2 down at ema its always nice to see something different at Ema other than a 737

sunday8pm 31st Oct 2012 07:27

FR to announce further expansion at EMA shortly. The bmibaby capacity void may finally be filled.

cornishsimon 31st Oct 2012 07:49

Any hint of the FR routes likely to be added to EMA ?

CDG

So here we are four days into the new BE/AF flights to CDG and the airport still doesn't show the AF flight codes on its arrivals/departures boards; it must be the only airport where this code share arrangement between the two airlines is in place that fails to do this!
It begs the question are those responsible not aware of the fact, or perhaps they just fail to realise that the information just might be of use to someone....?

Unfortunately instances like this just re-inforce the impression of the airport appearing not to be quite "on the ball" when it comes to communication...!

egnxema 31st Oct 2012 18:19

totally agree!

The AF codeshare and the easy onward connections on the global AF network must surely be a good news story for EMA and they should maximise on it.

ATNotts 31st Oct 2012 18:42

Balair:

Whilst it's slightly daft of the airport management, most people book flights on the www and will pretty easily find the AF connections by using the likes of Opodo (other on line agencies are available!) or the AF website itself.

Ryanair

Just what EMA needs like a hole in the head - more Ryanair, which means less revenue to use to develop the airport, improve facilities etc that would benefit proper scheduled carriers such as FlyBe and their major partners. Hopefully the airport didn't go out of their way to offer incentives to get the extra Ryanair routes and aircraft to the airport - if they did, I'm afraid it will turn out to be a big mistake.

ematom1 31st Oct 2012 18:47

The Ryanair extra flights is better than nothing the airport having more pax will bring more revenue maybe not as much as the likes of Thomson etc but it's a start to filling the void left from bmibaby, as much as I'd prefer seeing Tom Tcx mon be expanding from the airport it still isn't bad news for the airport
