No AB diversions at NCL they were being shown around by airport management. They were being issued with T-passes from security.

Anyone any ideas what the BA ticketdesk will become?

People have said Emirates but I was thinking maybe Flybe as that sign has gone from the Swissport ticketdesk.

DONTTELLTHEPAX 14th Apr 2007 17:47

Would be good If AB started STN-NCL head to head with EZY,
I have flown EZY STN-NCL-STN six times last year,
1 x diverted to MAN,
1 x delayed 4 hrs,
2 x canx rebooked next flt.

BA Ticket desk

The BA ticket desk is going to become a BA ticket desk (or rather a desk issuing BA tickets) operated by Swissport. Since the advance of the internet, there isn't the same demand for an airport ticketing desk.

Summer 2008

Could it be that Orlando from NCL will not opperate for summer 2008 ?
The frequency of flights to SFB has diminished drastically over recent years to just one per week for summer 2007.
The first release of holidays to Florida for 2008 ie Thos Cook which usually has a flight from NCL ( Monarch), has NO NCL flight at all.
Of course with all the mergers coming along the flights and airlines shown in first edition brochures just coming out may not resemble what actually happens.
But its concerning that one of the operators with a usual large allocation of seats on NCL-SFB does not show any flight at all

heslop2006 15th Apr 2007 17:23

fl dutchman: There's still Thomson to release 08 flights. Fingers crossed :)

10 DME ARC 16th Apr 2007 09:01

SFB is a shared flight between TUI,MYT and Main street USA. TCX do not have any seats on it!
Nice to see GSM operating most of MME's weekend flights from NCL! The a/c diverted in both Friday and Saturday night!:)

nclpilot 16th Apr 2007 11:59

I would be pretty sure SFB would operate next summer - they are always full and are very popular

fl dutchman 16th Apr 2007 12:57

SFB

I understood that My travel are the principle charterers of the current 2007 Monarch flight with Thomson, Thomas Cook, Mainstreet and others each buying seats
In previous years Thos Cook, Myt and Thomson each had there own flights at some stage.
So I think its worrying that for the first time in years Thomas Cook Holidays are not offering any seats to SFB from NCL for 2008
Lets hope either Thomson or MYT do it.
Had heard somewhere that Travel City were lookong at SFB from either NCL or MME ! wonder if there is any connection. They of course dont normally sell seats to other tour operators.( I think)

nclpilot 16th Apr 2007 13:53

I can't see there being no SFB flights at all - surely Thomson and MyTravel will still be able to sell seats. I believe MYT actually operate in April - I am right?

GrahamK 16th Apr 2007 14:46

MyTravel are currently operating a NCL-GLA-SFB series until the end of April using A330s.

 Has anyone heard what the latest news is about the Chief Executive ???

ScouseGeordie 16th Apr 2007 20:43

NCL airport Managing Director? Good riddance to him I say- the airport's a mess:

Drop-off carpark split into 2,

BA's 757 can't use the domestic jetty,

Security's a nightmare:
The other day I came to the top of the escalator from the charter check-in to be confronted by a queue for security so long that I had difficulty stepping off the escalator - and there were people behind me! That sort of thing could cause someone a nasty injury.

ncleflights 16th Apr 2007 21:33

ScouseGeordie

Lets not forget that before Mr Ps arrival the airport was a bigger mess it was inefficient and we did not have the likes of Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair. We also have to look forward to Emirates, and a new airport hotel and petrol station in the short term.

Without Mr P would the airport have expanded so quicky. Whatever he was supsended for lets not forget his achievements whilst at NCL.

On the SFB front Ive heard that Travel City are going to operate MME to SFB in 2008 perhaps this has put off potential operators from NCL.

Crooked CEO

Latest news on the (ex) CEO front:
It's funny how what goes round comes around. I've heard, from a very reliable journalistic source with an ear in local government, that the CEO's misdemeanours ARE the sort that lands one in jail. Playing fast and loose with PUBLIC money, yes that's right money that ultimately belongs to all of us tax payers. Conducting back of fag packet and brown envelope business deals from one of his favourite haunts, a lap dancing club in Newcastle. A claim of an affair outside of marriage with another man (nowt wrong with that if thats your thing). Noiseabatement was correct about the rumour of a move to BHX. He had chased after that before the unfortunate ex MD of BHX was even cold in his grave.
He was escorted from the premises and immediately the codes on all the doors were changed. His fall from grace was meticulously orchestrated by one of his closest chums who now runs the ship and clinically implemented by the head of another department as an act of vengeance for the way he had been treated which led him to have two nervous breakdowns. I might be speaking too soon but I don't think we'll be seeing him back. Of course stranger things have been known to happen.
And before you ask Ops Guy, No, I am not a fan and I don't expect that very many others are either. That doesn't mean I dont love the place where I work and hope for the best for it. I also want the best for my fellow Geordies and it rankles the way they have been robbed and betrayed by the devious coniving worm.
The oft quoted phrase springs to mind - Good riddance to bad rubbish! We should all celebrate. How about a night in the toon? :ok:

nav3 17th Apr 2007 07:04

"A night on the Toon" ?

Sounds good to me.......what about going to that Lap dancing club?:ok: :ok: ;)

andrewmcharlton 17th Apr 2007 07:56

You need to be careful heading to the lap dancing bar because if his influence has rubbed off (sorry terrible choice of words) then there may only be low cost dancers parked away from the table you are at with insufficient trays to bring the drinks !

crewboi83 17th Apr 2007 21:36

:D Think i need to change my pants!!! that was sooo funny!

Maude Charlee 18th Apr 2007 20:51

Well at least something happened that led to them changing the codes on the doors! Clearly the Taleban/Al Quaeda hath no fury like a scorned MD.
