TUI Belgium-Jetairfly

Hi to you!

The TUI Airline from Belgium Jetairfly changed their ICAO-abbreviation from TUB (Tui Belgium) to JAF (JetairFly).
OK, now it is like the name on the aircraft. But why the change?

Did anything happened to the company?
Any major change?

Or just for fun?

Thanks for info!

Hi FY,

AFAIK it is just a "commercial" move to have the same "sticker" on all TUI products in Belgium (TUI is not very well know, JetAir on the contrary is an established brand). Hence the change from TUIFly to JetAirFly...

I cant see that would have been the reason.
TUI were unheard of in the UK - but it didnt stop them changing the name of the very well known Britannia Airways to Thomsonfly and whatever else its next going to be called-TUIFly or whatever.
Nothing though would suprise me with them any more as they are suffering big time with an identity crisis.

Does anyone what day Jetairfly change their name to TUI Airlines Belgium? I know it's some point in 2016.

I think it's happening now, saw an Arke B787 last weekend with a large red 'TUI' on the side!

Arke has been renamed already and it said that Jetairfly's official name will change sometime in 2016 with TUIfly Nordic and Thomson to follow.

Believe it's November 2016 for Jetair
And Feb/March 2017 for the Nordics and then November 2018 at the earliest for Thomson

I thought TUI's Nordic airline was currently called TUIfly Nordic. Will this be rebranded (again) - and if so what will the new name be ?

All tui group airlines (bar corsair) are all being rebranded TUI with a small 'operated by Thomson/tuifly/jaf/arke' sticker at the front door. The Dutch are deemed more open to brand change so went first. The brits less so, so are last to change.

I'm not sure I like the new large TUI logo on the arke a/c its a bit big and just doesn't look right. Black tui on the Eng cowls seems a bit odd with no other black on the livery.

The engines would of looked better with just a small red Tui logo

It will be TUI Airlines Nordic. (the fly is getting dropped as well)

but strangely, whilst it has TUI on the side, the Dutch email addresses have changed to @tuifly confusing as ever

OO-JDL now just has TUI titles - just been pushed out of Air Livery (Manchester).
