Virgin Atlantic

Any truth that a few head office staff made redundant this week?

sevenforeseven 22nd Aug 2008 16:06

And your source?

Rubber Duck 22nd Aug 2008 17:38

A340-600 power socket

I'm flying Economy to Washington on the 340-600 from LHR. Will I have a power socket for the laptop.

If not, why not?

Thanks in advance.

Rubber Duck 22nd Aug 2008 21:40

7-4-7, Perhaps all that head banging :ugh:has reduced your ability to read properly or may be its just your brain capacity. My reference was to staff travel and upgrades. My colleague is a senior Director of the Airline who suggested he couldnt upgrade on staff travel as due to the spirling costs on fuel and credit crunch the Airline had suspended such privilages. If that is incorrect so be it, I was going on info from a reliable source!

Virgin

Nobody finds this question in the actual Virgin thread just below, so I'll ask here since I'd like to know!

Is there a power point on the Virgin A340-600's out of Heathrow, for a laptop, in Economy?

Thanks in advance..

Standard Jet Dep 23rd Aug 2008 08:43

Rubber Duck i am a reliable source:O I work for the company, will be using staff travel tomorrow so if there is no upgrading due to that ill let you know. All the best.

Ah, useful website. I thought VA would have it on their own website, but I didn't find it.

In other words, No, is my answer!

Thanks buddy..

RUBBERDUCK, Your the one with nothing in your rubbery head. Staff flying in J, or W, will not make the aircraft consume anymore fuel than it would if a staff member flew Y.:ugh:

You must be an office based person who does not know the front end of a aircraft to the back end.:ugh::{:{:ugh::{:ugh:

spannersatcx 25th Aug 2008 17:37

the meals and ammenities kits cost more, perhaps you'll have to do as we have been instructed (at CX) to politely refuse them when offered.

BlueTui 25th Aug 2008 18:46

The meals would only go to waste if not consumed on that flight... as for amenity packs... well if the punters dont have them the crew do....

take a look at EBAY the evidence is all there(i dont think someone who has paid £2000+ for a Jclass ticket needs to sell on their amenity kit for a few quid...

Utter rubbish. All staff travelling have and still are entitled to their upgrades.

VS staff are only required to refuse snooze suits and the "extra's" that are handed out in addition to the amenity kit, but can take the standard one.

No.

If not, why not?
Because they are not installed in economy, only in Premium and Upper.

:)

Rubber Duck, from what myself and Leezyjet have said, your nothing but a

On my flight today we had 5 staff in J with spare seats in all classes - so utter tosh.

beamwidth 26th Aug 2008 07:33

if your staff ticket is J, you get the seat if its there.
If your ticket is Y, the policy is to not bump you up!
