Bournemouth Team

The Bournemouth management is comprised of one of the strongest regional airport teams in the country. Backed by MAG experience they have tremendous strength in depth to address one of the most difficult periods in UK airport economic survival. The business at Bournemouth is an amalgum of Passenger Flying, Cargo Ops, Flying training, Military support, Aircraft engineering, Industrial Estate property management & Catering. Its not just about aircraft movements. Bournemouth will still be operating and thriving long after this recession is over.

Proper Airports

"surely Manchester airport can employ decent management who can operate a proper airport efficiently"

And your view as to what constitues a "proper airport" is what?

I think that from their record, the MAG Management team ain't too bad at operating airports.

The problem is that in the current economic climate, there are far too many 'marginal' airports who simply can't pay their way. Even the likes of LPL doesn't make a profit.

Can I ask you if the £45M investment made by MAG into BOH was a good or bad decision by decent - or otherwise - management?

So a brief summary of what S12 will bring (at the moment!)

Atlantic Holidays: Madeira - 2 flights planned was 3 this year operated by Monarch.

Blue Islands: Jersey remains at 3 weekly as per the winter with Guernsey availible via Jersy. All flown by J32's.

Newmarket Hols: No major changes from this year, most flights seem to be operated by Tor Air.

Ryanair: 1 based 738 as was the case this year but there are a few small frequency changes at some of the spanish airports due to them throwing their toys out of the pram (again!). Wroclaw in Poland is a new route - ops 2 weekly Monday and Friday.

Thomas Cook: Antalya and Dalaman will not return so they will be absent from BOH for S12.

Thomson: 1 based 738 remains, a few changes to the schedule with Sharm el Sheik becoming winter only and Mahon being added on a Monday. Otherwise pretty much the same as last year.

Lets hope 2013 is a brighter year for BOH as far as passenger services are concerned, and that this comes along with some sort of improvement to our rather unstable economy!!
