Cabin Crew wise, I was one of the lucky few to get a permanent contract at bmi LHR. A about another 20 X-XLers have joined me.

The majority of crew are split between the LGW charter carriers TCX, MON and VIK.

Arik Air picked up some Cabin Crew also.

Some have also joined EI with their base, along with some other crew on temp contracts with EZY. Then a few have gone abroad with QR, and EY and some at STN are with Titan.

Thanks for asking nice to know we are not forgotten!, at my base brs most went to tcx few ezy then rest dotted around at flyglobespan, emirates and qantas to name a few. Very few jobs out of brs these days all temp contracts. Hopefully 2010/11 onwards will bring some employment for those who have put their wings in storage! :ok:

XL

I see XL Airlines are flying again......Recentley seen at Lasham a Boeing 737-800 with the XL Logo in blue on the side

IB4138 29th May 2010 19:42

The 737 at Lasham is a Viking aircraft wet leased to XL France. Hibrid colour scheme.

Not quite...

Caledonian & Peach Air became JMC which in turn became Thomas Cook. Nothing to do with XL.
Can't speak for the old Ambassador but I think you'll find it has nothing to do with XL either, long before those days in fact.
There is a certain connection with Viking & XL/Excel Airways however.

Mad-Air 15th Jun 2010 01:01

Oh people!!
Alot of the staff from Ambassador went onto to form & start Sabre that then became Excel Airways/XL.....
But staff being staff, alot carried on with JMC/Caledonian. But then I know a whole raft left & joined, Excel Airways as they started their long haul program.
I have it on reasonable authority that various members of the old XL (management) team went onto to form Viking.....

Oh well. It all seems to have happened again then, doesn't it? Some of the comments made after the time of the Xcel collapse were strangely, and correctly, prophetic......
