Gives a LF of 38%, however I am aware that numbers improved massively in the summer. Still quite poor however though for May, can't dress that up.

However the service returns next summer on the 28th of April, so there's obviously some economic merit, LH won't run at a massive loss. The Saturday only flight is a disadvantage.

Used the inbound service a fair bit in June/ July & August and loads looked good from what I could see. Would be great if they could justify a few days a week but even still I've been fortunate not have to drive down from Dublin after the trips. Be on the inbound again in a few weeks and should be interesting to see what it's like Semi off peak.

Agree banner if they could add a midweek service also would work much better and give inbound operators flexibility in offering tours around the region - a weekly service provides little flexibility for short stay market

Primera air? They are due to announce BHX/STN and 2 other yet un-named airports to Toronto by the end of the summer.

YYZ has been a Gap in the market, however I never felt that there was an airline to do the route.

Would Primera be right for the route? Without a base or presence at either end, it would be costly from both an operational and marketing perspective.

Lack of base of awareness Hasn't stopped Primera adding BHX/STN-BOS/EWR.

Better to have someone give it a go than no one at all.

Nobody knew Air Transat flew from Shannon or that the airline even existed when the route operated.

Norwegian was fairly unknown in Ireland at the time of their entry too.

Did the SAS Stockholm route recently. Great airline imo. Busy enough both ways but not packed either so not sure how successful it has been overall. Maybe 60-70% full in and out. Mainly Swedish tours by the looks of it...and some business travellers on the return to SNN.

If they promoted it, and ran it for a bit longer it has potential...maybe inbound more so than out imo.

The recent aircraft upgrades are promising. First A320N operated on a commercial flight to the airport recently.

Didn't see much promotion but was in and out of Arland quick. Listed as a seasonal destination on their in flight magazines etc. Didn't see that much over driving on social media at this side either to be honest, no more than other routes or airports.

YYZ to be announced tomorrow with AC rouge, flights will be on a 767-300.

Rouge looks like the best possible operator for the route. They've a good presence in Canada, a lower costbase than Air Canada themselves, but will still be offering connecting traffic.

What aircraft are they planning to use on the route? The range looks a little tight for one of their A319s or A321s; not impossible, but I could see a number of westbound flights having to stop in Gander to refuel. On the other hand, a B767 would seem a little big. But it's only those three types that they have.
