easy routes from GLA and EDI

A simple question.

Do crews out of the smaller bases, those with less routes, ever find themselves going to destinations other than those served by their home base? For example Edinburgh-Luton-Paris-Luton-Edinburgh.

If this is not the case it must get a little tedious going back and forth to Belfast from Glasgow etc.

Cheers.

Why on earth do you want to know this jimthebus?

That is basically what I am getting at although there is more to it.

If a new FO were given the choice between two bases, one with only a few routes but in the ideal location while the other has many more routes but is in a less favourable location, what do you do?

If the crews at the small bases fly only to 5 or 6 locations this would be a less valuable/varied training environment. If however the number of destinations from the base does not directly relate to the variation in routes that crew could expect to fly a more informed decision could be made.

Cheers

Does anybody if the Edinburgh to Bournemouth route is going ahead with easyjet.

I haven't heard that one before - BOH-EDI. I think BOH could definitely support a low cost route to EDI. Here's hoping :ok:

There have been fairly strong rumours of new EZY routes at GLA (and to a lesser extent EDI) this winter floating about on this board and others recently. However, no announcement has been made yet, so it seems to outsiders that perhaps chances of anything happening this winter are receding.

Indeed, GLA-AMS is not bookable for the winter timetable, so it would seem that, in the case of GLA at least, there may be even less places to fly to. I'd be interested to see how EZY are going to utilise the aircraft if it is not flying to AMS - surely it's not going to sit on the ground doing nothing at GLA for several hours?

The route has been rumoured for a while now, although never with easyJet. Jet2 has always been the airline mentioned.

Glasgow to Nice would be quite nice.
