Runway with significant displaced threshold
Anybody know of any runways with a significant threshold displacement. Preferably international airports with runways in excess of 2500m long. Cheers.

Madrid Barajas R33. IIRC about 4000m long but with a 1000m displaced threshold.

Farnborough, UK - physical length 2400m, but displaced by about 600m at each end. Full length used for all take-offs though, which means light a/c often airborne before the piano keys!

26L at EDDF? Never seen it in use in fact.. "Runway 25L has a second (displaced) threshold marking 1500 m after the normal one. This second part of 25L is denoted as runway 26L. The reason for this somewhat unusual construct is the ability to shorten the required minimum separation of approach aircraft. A medium aircraft following a heavy has normally to be separated by 5 NM, regardless whether they land on the same or parallel runways (the runway distance in Frankfurt is not wide enough for full parallel operation). If however the medium aircraft lands on 26L, it is about 250 feet higher on the glideslope than the preceding heavy. This justifies the reduction of the minimum separation to 3 NM. This technique is referred to as HALS/DTOP (High Approach Landing System / Dual Threshold Operation) and is unique worldwide" |

it's not international, and it's not over 2500m, but it is over 1/3 of the rwy displaced...
