Hmmm...

as well as the already mentioned business interests, a google found this business registered too at the same address.

http://www.webnotics.co.uk/index.asp

Marketing and Sales director of this lot, is the Cargo Director (Designate) of Global Aviation.

MD of Webnotics shares same surname as MD of Global Aviation...

Management Links

And you point is...........?

jetstream7 20th May 2005 14:12

Have you read the whole thread... ?

The point is that the people behind this have a number of other 'interests' and that this adds to the information already shared.

Yak97 20th May 2005 15:25

New Operation

Yes I have read the whole thread, which seems another case of trying to put down a new operation before it gets going.

I can't see what the interest is with a Company that shares an address but otherwise has no relationship with an aviation company.

jetstream7 20th May 2005 16:04

Are you really sure you've read the whole thread?

A few points...

Some of the people involved appear to have colourful histories, and may have acted illegally at some point in the past

There are links between the various companies

Most importantly, just because it's a start up is no reason not to question, challenge or discuss the people behind it, the viability of the plan and anything else about it...

Finally, why not ask yourself why you appear to want to moderate the discussions on PPRuNe?. There is a more than adequate group of moderators to do this.

Have a good weekend.

(Edit to add... Thunderball2 thanks for your comments below in response to what I wrote... it had crossed my mind there could be a link, but I decided, it just couldn't be so or was too much of a presumption...)

Thunderball 2 20th May 2005 16:30

Well said, jetstream7, right on the money. :ok:

Yak97, I have always held you to be a highly professional and objective individual. However, I believe you have had a long (albeit intermitent) association with the person behind the company in question, and I also believe that you are well aware of the totally unprincipled way he works and the enormous damage he has inflicted on numerous people and businesses who have simply tried to conduct honest business with him.

In view of this I find your comments totally inexplicable.

Harry F Sanford 20th May 2005 22:10

If the guy behind Celtic, Big City, Fly European and the plundering of European Aviation Air Charter tries any stunts that involve him doing impersonations of a serious airline executive (rather than a conman) in front of the CAA, I will personally fly to London and tell the people in Kingsway what this monkey is about. And that's a promise. :yuk:

Involvement

OK Lets be upfront about this.

1. Yes I have been involved with the people behind Global for some time. However, as an individual, I have had no problems with dealing with them, as regards payments, etc.

2. Yes I've heard some rumours, but as they have only been IMHO rumours, I'e not let it affect me, see 1 above. There are always plently of rumours sloshing around the industry (whats the name of this site?) and there are plently of people with things in their past that they might like to forget. Naive? perhaps.....

3. Yes, I am involved with the Air Tigra start-up and I hate to see comments that run down something I'm currently putting a lot of time and effort into. Having met the principles involved I am convinced this is a goer. I've been bombarded by other people who wanted to start airlines, and some who had rushed into the public domain before they really were credible. At the moment on another thread is "Global Spirit" - lots of PR, website, press releases etc, but apparently no substance - no AOC application, no involvement with airports, slots etc, operator, but supposing to start flying in June?? (It's not one I've been involved with, thank goodness).

4. With Air Tigra its been different. They have come up with the fund for AOC & OL Application. Those of you in the know will be aware that that's a lot of money for the aircraft concerned, enough to put most wanabee's off. I would not be involved if this step had not been taken. The principles have decided, at this stage, that there's no point going of half cocked this press releases etc until all the main management people are onboard. That's why there has been the advert in Flight for Chief Pilot, etc.

I would really like to give more info but I can't.

However those people who know me, or think they know me, will know that I would not work at anything If I thought it was some type of "scam".

If anyone wishes to PM me then that's fine.

Yak97

I'm told that many of these rumours will be subject to the only test that really matters "fairly soon". However, I will readily admit that I've heard all this before, and I'm beginning to doubt whether the protagonists have the resources and/or the bottle. That having been said they're going to look pretty stupid if they don't do something, so maybe this factor alone will spur them on. I hope so.

Anyway, given the evidence that I have seen and heard, all I can say is that - IMHO - it seems to be beyond reasonable doubt that the fellow you know and love is a genuine, fully paid-up Don Dodgy, a (thankfully) rare beast in this great industry of ours. The difficulty for you and others, I suspect, is that we're dealing with someone whose very business "lifestyle" is....well, let's just politely say, "flawed". So he's like an addict in denial, he thinks this is the way everyone works, and while he's fooling himself he'll fool plenty of others too. And never forget that even John Gotti always paid his milk bill....

One thing is for sure; if certain individuals/companies that were involved with the fiasco here in Bournemouth can be persuaded to repeat before the beak what they've freely said to me and others then this guy will finally be forced to face the music. And it ain't going to be rock and roll......:(

Adult entertainment

As diverse as the global group appear to be there is yet another facet to their extensive portfolio of business interests.

www.titanictoni.com

Those of you who are rich enough to pay the monthly (recurring until cancelled) fee will be treated to a feast of unsavoury entertainment some of which was photographed in and around the Global/Webnotics/Air Tigra office . This may save this startup a huge amount of money on inflight entertainment!

And before moderators both official and unofficial question the validity of this point please check out the site.

Thunderball 2 23rd May 2005 08:17

Unbelievable!

I can hear the cabin announcement now;

"We are about to show the main feature, filmed at the company offices. Would any passengers requiring extra sick-bags please notify a cabin staff member before the film begins".

Websites

Well everyone needs a hobby!

Just out of interest, for the internet illiterate, how to you tie this site *deleted* in with Golbal?

gatwicknose 23rd May 2005 11:09

pporn

Just take a look at the pictures.....obviously there is a little bit of inside info here...other contributors can confirm

Yak97 23rd May 2005 11:37

The point again.....

Sorry I still don't see what relevance this information has with Global.

Do you read the Daily Express??

If so it might be of interest to know that the owner of the Express Group (including the Daily Express) has well published links to adult magazines & internet sites?

The newspaper business is under constant scrutiny by the Gvmt and if they had any doubts about these types of links, that could have stopped the sale.

So either your are very puritanical and don't like this type of stuff (even for an Aviation Consultancy) or else this seems to be some sort of attempt to blacken a Companies (and person's) reputation by association.

If you have a personal axe to grind, please bring it out into open forum - I have been upfront on my involvement - over to you.

gatwicknose 23rd May 2005 11:46

Axe Grinding

The sparks from all the axes currently being "ground" as a result of a certain individual's actions can be seen glowing on the horizon after dark!

I am not willing to be specific but I feel the general air of discomfort mentioned by many contributors should give you some clue as to the track record of the folks involved in this startup.

As you appear to be a fairly straight forward person YAK , perhaps your steadying influence would be of benefit to Air Tigra...I hope so for their sake!

The Real Slim Shady 25th May 2005 20:14

Folks, I really think that if you consider the case of the United staff who have seen their pensions decimated and the other carriers who are losing money by the bucketload, the source of funding, so long as it is legal, is irrelevant, if jobs will be created and / or secured.

Your bank doesn't care where your pay check comes from; they do care when it doesn't arrive though !

Thunderball 2 27th May 2005 11:34

Guys, Yak97 in particular, please .... enough is enough! You CANNOT defend the indefensible, so stop trying. Comparisons with the proprietor of the Express Group are facile; no one is accusing him of what your daft chum stands accused of in this thread.

There are half a dozen people here, maybe more, who think the guy's poison. How often does this type of profile emerge for someone in the UK industry? And it is not without good reason. I spend 0% of my time looking for evidence of this clown's antics, but I keep being told more by people who don't even know I'm interested! Think about it.

Of course you'll get paid, Yak97 - he needs all the friends he can get now the truth is beginning to emerge. Long live Prpune, and long may this thread continue. Let's keep our powder dry and see if he attempts to occupy an executive position when the carrier launches.........:ok:

PPRuNe Pop 27th May 2005 17:47

There have been complaints about mud slinging and a general tone that may bring forth that which we would find goes against PPRuNe principals and rules. Some of you are getting real close but the thread stays.

But.........remember libel is something YOU have to stand by and you may be required to supply us with your full name and address before you can put it on PPRuNe, since you will be called to account for any accusations that are damaging. Think befoire you post - because PPRuNe is not about to held to ransom for the idiots who cannot consider their responses.

Go careful. No names, no libel, and no slagging off each other. Genuine posters are welcome, smart arses can find another place to play.

PPP

Thunderball 2 27th May 2005 22:22

Okay, Pop, point taken. High time, perhaps, that the focus shifted to what Air Tigra are all about, if anyone knows. But - as you can tell from the posts here - a lot of people appear to believe, rightly or wrongly, that someone centrally involved in this start-up should only be dealt with using extreme caution, and in disseminating this information Pprune is performing a very useful service.

BTW, I for one wouldn't hesitate to stand up and be counted about this fellow. If asked to do so in a judicial forum, I would repeat the numerous allegations that have been made about him, and give the names of the people who have made them to me.
