Monarch flights

Just wondering if anyone can give me a schedule for what type of aircraft Monarch use on each flight departing Manchester this summer.
For example can someone kindly give me the timetable with the aircraft type next to it used on that route.

longarm 24th Jan 2005 16:16

Don't think even the company known as of yet. If its a Scheduled flight then it will most likely be operated on the A320/A321.

I worked with the Aviance team at MAN for approx 8 months and during that time all Scheduled flights were operated by the Airbus A320/321. The B757 and A300 were reserved for the charter flights. I believe the A330s were kept for the mass charter market during the summer to places like TFS and SFB.

I remember getting an A330 to TFS and returning on an A300, im not sure if the A330 was a replacement for an A300 because we did have a 4 hour delay.

EGCC 25th Jan 2005 10:42

As already stated, the majority of Monarch Scheduled services ex MAN use A320/A321 equipment. However with the increase in Scheduled services this summer 757's will also be used for some flights, Malaga and Gibraltar in particular. I've heard A300's may even be used here and there.

I don't know about the charter side of their operation as it's a mix of 757's and Airbus.

G-BBAE 25th Jan 2005 11:21

Does anyone know if Monarch have got an aircraft on order, im wondering if 757s will eventually be replaced with A321s.

longarm 25th Jan 2005 14:18

From the recruitment and promotions taking place within the company looks like at least 1 767 that has been confirmed for this summer and possibly 3 A320's also. Also likely 1 more 767 next year.

G-BBAE 25th Jan 2005 14:34

Take it the A320s are going to be brand new and the 767s will come from MyTravel.

longarm 25th Jan 2005 17:48

767 from MYT (currently on Hadj) three A320's is only a rumour (albeit supported by training and recruitment numbers) but doubt they'll be new.

Mr @ Spotty M 25th Jan 2005 17:56

G-BBAE.
A320s are going to be used examples, G-OZBJ the first is due to arrive mid Feb and this one used to be G-MONZ when it flew with Monarch in its past life. Two more A320s are being sourced at this time.
Longarm.
As you can see its more than a rumour.

bigMANofMAN 25th Jan 2005 19:06

G-OZBJ

For info - G-OZBJ is to be the next A.321 due before the summer

G-MONZ and possibly G-MONW will be re-joining the fleet for the
summer season

Were did you get the A321 coming this summer.
Monarch have taken delivery of all outstanding A321 orders, the last of the batch of five being G-OZBI last year.

G-BBAE 26th Jan 2005 08:20

How old are the 757s now, surely they are due retirment soon?

Mooncrest 26th Jan 2005 09:39

The first 757s joined Monarch in 1983 (I think), probably some of the first in the UK along with the BA examples. You probably won't remember, BBAE, (or were even born!) but one came into Leeds in March of 1984 before the runway extension was finished
and landed and took off with ease.

Yes, they're knocking on a bit but they're built to last so I expect we'll be seeing them for a few more years yet. Mind you, BA have already disposed of their early aircraft and the production line has now stopped so who knows...

G-BBAE 26th Jan 2005 09:45

Wonder why 757 production stopped, up until a few years ago it was selling succesfully, then airliners have either decided to invest in 737-800s, A320s or A321s.
Are Boeing having any success in orders for 737-900s, i heard BY had ordered some.

Alloy 26th Jan 2005 12:47

Although perhaps being more versatile, the demise of the B757's is due in part to the B757's burn being about one tonne an hour more in fuel, in the cruise, compared to an similarly sized A321.

Monarch's 757's were the first ETOPS 757s in the UK.

brabazon 26th Jan 2005 13:03

G-BBAE check out following for breakdown of Boeing 737 orders:

http://active.boeing.com/commercial/...tS=View+Report

Seems like 55 737-900s were ordered by 9 customers of which 46 have been delivered.

G-BBAE 27th Jan 2005 07:18

Looks the 737-900 isnt doing to well like its cousin the 737-800.

GOLF-INDIA BRAVO 27th Jan 2005 08:16

I take it you mean unlike it`s cousin B737 800

Definately know that BHXAGP for Monarch Scheduled is an A321, and I think that the other new routes from BHX are also going to be on the A321. Does anyone know how well the BHX base is selling? It's great to see the new competition from the view of the pax. Any plans on flights from BHX to LIS or MAD? Both cities hugely underserved in the UK by the locos, and it would be good to see these routes from LTN & BHX.
