EAC & Travel City.

Heard that EAC will be operating the newcastle & glasgow flights to sanford summer 2005. Anyone in the know???

Nakata77 20th Dec 2004 15:21

If they provide heart-stopping moments at GLA, imagine what they do to the people in Bournemouth (BOH).

Travel City Direct rumoured to be considering adding some departures from BOH to Sanford in July & August.

They cause some fun at Cardiff as well.

Are they doing Gatwick / Cardiff split load next summer?

I thought Air Atlanta did the Travel City flights or am I getting confused here???

surely not 20th Dec 2004 18:22

Air Atlanta didn't perform very well last year for TCD by all accounts. Lots of delays I'm told.

Well if EAAC do win the contract, perhaps that might put some more money in the coffers to pay the staff who were redundant.

You never know with EAAC :D

irishcc 20th Dec 2004 19:07

Not sure if this has anything to do with TCY program, but Air Atlanta Europe will be adding an additional 747 for next Summer...should be MAN based mainly for the short haul flights..allowing the other two 747s to operate mainly to SFB.

mrhosty 21st Dec 2004 09:10

well its the big topic of conversation at EAAC at the moment . . .are we or aren't doing the SFBs again? nobody knows if 1. we are back in cranebank . . or 2.let alone sanford and/or USA!!!!

G-BDXJ 747 was at Gatwick a few days ago wearing
Air Atlanta Europe titles

Have you heard this! 26th Dec 2004 19:32

Air Atlanta are now using a B747-300 for the TCY flights from MAN and I believe they will be getting one for LGW in April. Both will be in TCY livery. Holding 520 pax.

So, now they will be having better aircraft can EAC compete with their heaps of junk?

Harrier46 26th Dec 2004 20:17

Hmmmmm.....must have missed something. Didn't realise the -300s were so much better than the -200s. And so much newer as well (NOT). With 520 seats packed in the punters must be rubbing their hands with glee. Just hope they've left room for all the bags.

Harrier46

Looks like you have miss something becauce they are newer and brighter.

They cause some fun at Cardiff as well.

I dispatched the first one of the summer and the crew wanted to fly non-stop but the air pressure and temp got the better (would have been 12 tonnes over weight), but took the maximum fuel they could and decided to stop in shannon. I think the main gear left the ground just before the "piano keys".

Can anyone tell me what the current situation is at EAAC? Their website is never updated, and there seems to be no way of emailing their head offices to request more information. Is it possible to contact their offices, and how are things looking for them?

Also, whats going on at TCD? I heard they were using Air Atlanta Europe again, with either the usual 742s or possibly 767s. ???

Fried_Chicken 28th Dec 2004 18:49

B747-300s = not much better than 200s
