Travel City Direct 2005

Are TCD using Air Atlanta Europe for the whole of their schedule again . . . if not will European return to do some of the surplus work?? Discuss!

GOLDEN LION 19th Oct 2004 16:36

no...................................;)

surely not 19th Oct 2004 17:31

ahhhhhhhh, but no to which part of the question?

Chidken Sangwich 19th Oct 2004 17:44

Why would anyone who knew both answers to these questions wish to discuss commercially sensitive information of this nature in public?

Man2e 19th Oct 2004 18:40

Air Atlanta are doing the travel city next year they are also starting flights from Newcastle. even though theyve had alot of delays this season TCD are happy with the contract.

irishcc 19th Oct 2004 19:44

16 TCY ( branded) flights this summer from LGW and MAN per week, plus the EUK flights.

LAS may also operate again!

Flymegirl 19th Oct 2004 21:58

Well why would TCD be in BOH discussing future work i wonder!!!:p Perhaps they are looking for more employees......

GOLDEN LION 20th Oct 2004 09:31

New aircraft for TCY.....

1st B747-300 in situ Jan 2005, 2nd in for March 2005, big upgrade in onboard product .....

Why would they go back to the EAC disaster.....

rmo757 20th Oct 2004 10:07

Looks like good news for TCD heard there were ex CRL units anyone care to comment?
No way back in for EAC

irishcc 20th Oct 2004 10:47

Yes...

Both aircraft coming from Corsair, currently in a 580 all economy config, will be changed to 520 approx ( 22 Sunshine First, 63 Sunshine upperdeck, 435 economy)

Both wil receive full TCY colours, and leather interior through out.

Give a dog a beach 20th Oct 2004 11:06

510 Total seats to be exact.
And I believe they will be in Excel livery with Excel cabin crews.
After all Excel are taking over Air Atlanta Europe when the merger of the Air Atlanta Icelandic and Excel goes through so this is no surprie.
To be fair this merger is only a paper exercise as the 2 companies have been virtually one for a longer than we all realise.

give me a beach now

Flightrider 20th Oct 2004 11:24

Company intranet not working for you to talk to each other this morning, lads?

GOLDEN LION 20th Oct 2004 12:57

Or Lasses....................:ok:

Flightrider 20th Oct 2004 14:38

I think not.............

surely not 20th Oct 2004 15:10

got your digital camera with you?

TheOddOne 20th Oct 2004 15:22

If one of those a/c is currently F-GSUN then it'll be noisy (QC8 on departure) so won't be able to schedule 2300-0700 local or depart in the event of a delay 2330-0600 local.

HOTAC for TCD delays? LRV's & a night in the lounge?

Perhaps despatch reliability will be improved!!

TOO

GOLDEN LION 20th Oct 2004 16:27

I hear rmo757 has been seen with them on his head.....

Can anyone confirm this ????

jumbo girls 20th Oct 2004 19:59

The 2 747-300's will come with a 520 pax layout. 22 sunshineFirst seats, 63 SunshineUpperdeck seats & 435 economy seats.
Both 747-300 will carrier Travelcitydirect livereys.
Whilst the 2 747-200 that currently operate for Virgin Atlantic out of Manchester shall be returning to join the Air Atlanta europe/Excel Airways fleet, as Virgin will be using there own 747-400's on this route, as of April 2005.
The 747-200's shall come onto line on May 1st & wear full Excel Airways colours, 1 to based in Manchester & the other in London Gatwick. These aircraft shall operate the current EUK flights & surplus Mytravel Longhaul flights.
Mytravel is still in discussions with Excel to which routes they will operate for them.

GOLDEN LION 20th Oct 2004 20:41

Jumbo

I am afraid to advise that you are ill informed and off the mark.... just for a change.

Havana 20th Oct 2004 23:34

I just hope for all of you that the current 747's operating the TCD and SFB routes are 'retired' soon. Those aircraft are well past it.

I am glad to say that I am on to a new airline now. Nice shiny and new planes.
