New Sunderland Airport
 

Rumours from inside city council is that a new Airport is to be built in Sunderland.... can anyone confirm.... apparently it will be attached to Doxford park and have hangar space for one C172.... Just I want to park my third share of a Cessna 172 there (GBDUM).... Thanks in advance King Gorm01 x

Sunderland Council have never liked airports, they didn't like their old one and they don't like the one they have shares in at present! so...........

Does any one remember EGNU? Bob, Joss or Barry? What about Mac? or Don?
Bob I know passed away a long time back, but what about the rest?

Mac went to NCL and drove the avgas bowser for Gill for a couple of years. He then became a porter at the local general hospitol.
Lost touch after that.

Last time I saw Berry, he was airport manager at Dundee. That was about 1988.

I think Don was transfered to the local fire service when the airport closed in 1984.

Not sure what Jos did.

Thanks BALLSOUT yes I must admit I saw Mac at NCL early 90's, I talked to Berry a few times when I worked at Edinburgh, never remembered me but.............
Jos I know went into the housing department of the council when the airport closed, thats the last I'd heard.
See lots of other faces flying in/out of NCL, happy days.....
