Emerald 748 Pilots
I would like to hear from 748 pilots currently working for Emerald. I am keen to know what routes you work, Liverpool and European bases. What hours you work and if you have any layovers. how does the rosta work how many days on days off, holiday etc.
Many thanks ;) |
handy hint and tip - don't bother - look at other threads.

agree with dada
if you can find anything....and i mean anything other than emerald take it put a search in on emerald you will see what we mean |
ok guys, have read the threads. would really apreciate the info if you can help
cheers |
the roster is usually a complete shambles and is subject to change at a moments notice ....... dont even bother trying to have a social life a sit will be played havoc with.
they dont have enough crews to cover what they already have let alone the adhoc work they take. |
Germstone & Dada, if you have nothing better to say about the company then don't bother, & if you work for Emerald & don't like it, LEAVE. Plenty of room for more committed employees!!!!!!

Night frighter - i am entitled to my opinion just as much as you are yours. if you trawl through the numerous threads that constantly appear on this forum about emerald, you will see that more people agree with me and my famous catchprase, than will you. If i worked for emerald, i might not want to leave if it were run in a manner that respected employees and nurtured a culture that would lead to a dedicated and commited workforce. So in that respect night frighter you are absolutely right - plenty more room for committed employees - if only people wanted to be. Are you ? i doubt it.

Baseturn,
I wasn't on the 748, I was on the Shorts fleet out of Coventry. (Ex Streamline) Pluses. Crew's pretty good to work with. Flying is challenging and you'll get a lot of night hours. You get a real appreciation of the art of flying because of the lack of automatics. Good exposure to weather :D Night ops seem to try pretty hard to smooth out problems. Minuses. Not the best of support from some of the day staff. (eg hotels not being booked, taxi's not being booked, hire cars left in difficult to find places) Rang up just a few too many times whilst on rest. Not the best pay (esp if on a "new" contract, Shorts fleet). Heaters won't keep you warm in winter. Hotels can be a bit noisy, don't put up with it, complain. To keep yourself happy, decide if you're going to work on your days off. If you do and get called, don't expect any thing back. If you don't want to work on your days off ever, don't say yes or answer the phone. Easiest way to stay calm and happy. You may have to pay for your rating or you'll be bonded. |
rednail - haven't you forgot 1 minus?
MOB? |
dada,
I can't put it as well as you. :p |
