Air Scandic - New Livery
Seeming the deal has been done so that G-BYDA, the MYT DC10-30 is going to be flying for Air Scandic after this Summer comes to an end. Assuming it is to be joined by another DC10, and maybe some other type (?), is it high time that the airline rebranded to encompass the UK nature of it's ownership?
I for one have never understood why an airline (albeit with some historical connection to Finland) that has no Scandinavian bases has such a bizarre name and a somewhat dated livery! I cannot help but feel that their good reputation in the industry would spread to the general public if the name and livery was a little more British! |
They'll probably get rid of the MYT logo on the fuselage, and add the yellow vomit & the word 'Scandic' onto the tailfin!
job done....! |
I guess they'll have to change livery soon...I doubt they will keep the same on the DC10's as they have the A300's
|
I think most of the workforce at Scandic would like a more British sounding name and a more stylish and innovative paint scheme. One would think that this would be an appropriate time to make such a change with a new aircraft type on the way.
Presentation is so important especially when dealing with the travelling public. We'll see. Ron. |
Believe it or not (and I'm not joking) that livery isn't that old, just obviously designed by someone still stuck in the 70's.
At one stage last year there was talk of changing the name to Lapland Air. |
The white with blue cheat line really isnt that bad. The worst part is were someone has taken a giant paint ball gun, filled it with giant yellow paint balls and just fired it at the side.
|
Image isn't something that's high on the priority list by Air Scandic's management.....
|
Well they're still going strong so must be doing something right !
