Take a look here:

India's Kingfisher reports 9-month net loss of $39m

and there:
India's Kingfisher looks to sell some of its A340-500s

What I heard indian pilots were paid on time (october), expats didnt have the salary before 7th some of them even before 15th. November will be delayed for all, looks like real cash flow problem.

is it true that KF is in trouble?
Certainly seems so. Cancelling orders, deferring deliveries, and losing lots of money I'm afraid.

Kingfisher Going Down

Guys is it true?
Kingfisher going down:
1. No new wide bodies till 2012.
2. Of 5 existing wide body 2 to go on wet lease.
3. ex deccan pilots not paid till today?
4. LEASING AGENCY LOOKING TO TAKE BACK 4 A321'
5. Looking to "advance Book 25% equity"
6. Locals already looking at Indigo and Qatar for change of Jobs.
7. No more money from UB.

I am thinking of shift to Qatar or Arabia or Etihad or China

Forecast 4 months to declare bankruptcy End of Second Quarter 2009.

Please give feedback...

mixed news

Kingfisher going down:
1. No new wide bodies till 2012.

- since the capacity is already in excess why get more planes into the country and burden the company with parking and lease charges.

2. Of 5 existing wide body 2 to go on wet lease.

- jet has done the same ... and no one is crying foul... if ur own sectors donn't make money... i guess look everywhere else... wht say...

3. ex deccan pilots not paid till today?

- rubbish.:=

4. LEASING AGENCY LOOKING TO TAKE BACK 4 A321'

- maybe... but no denying some financial troubles.

5. Looking to "advance Book 25% equity"

- y not.. everyone else is doing it... y not kf?

6. Locals already looking at Indigo and Qatar for change of Jobs.

- aitrition is good for a companies growth...

7. No more money from UB.

- business is all about profit... no one likes helping when the chips are down... but titans rise.... when the chips are down... :ok:

Zeus

I correct my statement

ALL DECCAN STAFF - NOT ONLY PILOTS WERE PAID YESTERDAY OR TODAY BY CHEQUES DATED 05 FEB AND DELIVERED ON 10 FEB.

NEXT MONTH WILL BE DELAY FOR ALL.... MAYBE

Zeus: the last one of the bus may not find a cab...

Flew with Kingfisher Red last week; all very professional and no hint of trouble.

Not sure how common late payment is in India- still waiting for December my self but always get paid.....eventually

(Not in the airline business)

condorbaaz 11th Feb 2009 11:04

Not being paid will not make them unprofessional like management...
\the pilots are mature/
:D

subbu 13th Feb 2009 19:52

I think payment delay due to payroll operation not yet straightened after the merger

Kingfisher Airlines - Crunch Time?

Kingfisher apparently has crunch meetings over the next few days with the banks and lease companies that own its aircraft. Kingfisher is in default and since Gecas repossessed four Airbus aircraft last year, there have been cancellations, deferrals and further handbacks and repossessions in the last couple of weeks.

There are rumours emerging that Mr Mallya must imminently inject many hundreds of millions, do something with Jet Airways or there will be a stampede to take back aircraft.

Schumi - Red Baron 18th Mar 2009 07:02

Kingfisher Airlines has negotiated with Airbus to defer orders for 32 A-320 family aircraft due for delivery in 2008-09 to 2010-12.

VJ is juggling with his creditors. Some lessors with desirable airctraft for KF have been paid up whereas others left hanging or partially paid. A game of brinkmanship is being played - "If you want your aircraft you will have to come and get them and take your chances on being able to place them elsewhere in current market environment - otherwise be patient and we will pay you if and when we can".

17L 19th Mar 2009 16:05

some Ex Deccan A320s (Now KF) are parked in Goodyear Arizona. These birds are pretty new (less than 3 to 5 years old).

Melax 19th Mar 2009 17:31

What happened to the ambitious A380 order ???

False Capture 19th Mar 2009 21:25

I've heard many rumours that BA's A380s (which are due to arrive in 2012) are arriving a bit earlier than planned.

Carnage Matey! 19th Mar 2009 22:34

Thats the last thing BA needs, they can't fill the smaller aircraft they have now and there's no advantage in taking them early unless Airbus are willing to pay top $$$.

Soap Box Cowboy 20th Mar 2009 06:15

I know we have taken at least one ATR-72 that was intended for Kingfisher. Unfortunate for uus since their models are 800 kilos heavier than the version we ordered from ATR. I hope the managment was bright enough to demand some kind of financial compensation. :hmm:
