easy to fly from BRS to GVA and CIA

There is a report in today's Bristol Evening Post saying easyJet is to commence a daily service to Rome from 31 October and to Geneva from 15 December.

The report quotes Tony Hallwood, the airport's aviation development director.

I can find nothing about this on the easyJet or Bristol Airport websites.

Rome was one of Go's routes from BRS in its first summer and one of the few that was not continued (Ibiza was the other).
However, the Rome service was only scheduled to operate from mid July until mid September that first year, hardly enough time to consolidate it perhaps.

The GVA destination is not surprising given BRS's very strong ski market with 14 weekly ski flights last winter and the winter before that. This coming winter has already been described by the airport as the strongest ski winter yet, so the arrival of easy to GVA would boost that even further.

Available to book now on easyJet's web site. But it looks like they've dropped Copenhagen and Bilbao for GVA and CIA?

At present easy fly to BIO from BRS, LGW and STN. According to the booking site no flights are available to/from Bilbao after 30 October 2004 to/from any of these UK bases.

The same applies to CPH that is currently available from BRS, NCL STN and SXF. The booking site shows no Copenhagen flights are available to/from the UK bases or SXF after 30 October 2004.

I don't know whether BIO and CPH have been dropped altogether as a destination by easyJet or whether the flights to/from these airports have not yet been loaded into the booking system.

The reason I say this is that no flights are bookable to/from Belfast International (to/from anywhere)* after 30 October either and I can only think there is a delay loading the booking system for this airport.

*except from/to Newcastle. Why this should be so I don't know. I cannot think that all other flights from BFS will not operate this winter.

As to Bristol the only change from last winter that I can see is that for the first time Nice has been reduced from a daily flight to 5 x per week with the Tue and Thur flights not operating.

Amsterdam has returned to once daily (as last winter) from twice daily this summer and we must wait for the Belfast Int details.

Not sure how it will work out but at the moment it does look like Bilbao and Copenhagen have faced the axe - maybe its just the winter... Geneva in winter one of the others in summer perhaps?

Cheers

It seems that Ezy hasnt released the winter schedule for several stations yet, thats why you cant find the flights. I think its too soon to worry about axing routes.
