Longest scheduled ATR route

Hi,

Solenta Aviation regulary flies the ATR 42 for DHL between Dakar, Senegal (DKR) and Abidjan, Ivory Coast (ABJ), a distance of 982 miles and between 4.5 and 5.2 block time! I guess this has to be longest scheduled ATR run in the world but anybody knows of a longer one or comparable?

Thanks!

Air Tahiti: Papeete - Gambier Island non-stop with an ATR72 is 1019 sm (great circle) with a block time of c. 4 hours. Source: OAG

Thanks for the info!

Now, Dakar-Abidjan is 982 nautical miles = 1130 s.m. so it is longer than the Air Tahiti route...

Anyone know of a longer one?

Cheers

Air Kiribati used to fly an ATR-72- 200 to Nadi, Fiji from Bonriki, which is about 1171 nm or 1350 sm away. It took about 5 hours.
Not surprisingly it nearly sent them broke, and she's off back to Marseille.:ok:

Thanks for the info! I wonder how the pilots felt about such a long ocean crossing...

Cheers for now

Cimber Air does a summer route CPH-MPL, quite a long way to go in an ATR....

Just curious as to why they wouldnt use a small jet for these trips? (i used to fly Glasgow - Dublin, which is about 175 SM, and was never in anything smaller than a 146)

surly makes more sense, or is that the point?
