BA citiexpress 767 MAN - JFK temp stop
 

Can anyone confirm whether the 767 is not being used on this route for the summer. I have heard a rumour down at LGW that we are operating the route on 777 for the summer months. . .

It's BA Mainline, not Citiexpress.

I fear GoEdi has been understandably confused by BA's 'juggling' of who does what (and how and to whom etc etc etc:D )

As I understand it, the route is operated by CitiExpress but is flown by a BA Mainline a/c and flight deck.

Confused? Me too! Now, about the cabin crew...................:rolleyes:

Maybe a SCOPE clause DOES make a bit more sense?? Of course, the CitiExpress pilots have FULL access to bid for the 767 flying, don't they..........................

I thought Citiexpress use their own Bae 146s and ERJs. Does the money not go to the same place?

No it ain't. GoEDI is correct. BA CitiExpress do NOT have the 767 on their AOC. End of debate on that one.

Flight is, as I said, operated by BA a/c and flight deck (don't know about c/crew), and is different to 'mainline' BA JFK in having no First Class. How they can claim JFK to be "within the UK and Europe" I do not understand. Maybe BA are themselves a bit confused too?

See? Everyone is right! At the end of that well-known day it doesn't really matter. Just lots of confusion!! :D

In the end does it really matter? When the SLF come on board, for all intensive purposes its a BA aircraft, with BA Crew, BA inflight magazine/food.

The 767 GBNWH is flying the MAN-JFK and is classed as BA Citiexpress being flown by mainline crew and some BACX cabin crew are now on it. The aircraft is flightwatched by BACX ops BHX.

Also of importance 'is the aircraft full and is it a popular service'. The more longhaul out of MAN the better.

Dash-7 lover - out of mischief (and curiosity) what expertise do BACX OPS at BHX have in trans-atlantic ops that could not be better covered by OPS LHR?

They will not be using the 777 for the forseeable future as the use of that a/c would involve negotiations and allowances.

...more importantly what happens when the 767 is retired later this year...

BA have no expansion plans Ex Manchester so what happens then ?
