Easyjet B747 Lease
Browsing through this months copy of Airliner World Magazine, it suggests that easy are looking to operate a B747 during the summer months. Management spin accounts for this by pontificating about it's 'highly successful business model'. Why should we turn away fare paying pax etc. Having flown for ezy for a couple of years now I have yet to operate a completely full a/c.
I therefore wonder if it's actually due to a lack of planning and of pilots. Cynical ?......Moi? |
possibly leased for easyAtlantic operation??? Stelios has bought the name so maybe going ahead with his plans
|
Dont know anything about this but there were 2 Corsair 747's in LTN this afternoon. Maybe a trial run!!!
|
My understanding was that the 747 thing was an April fools joke.:O

Corsair 747 at Luton
Here is a link to some info on that 747 in luton earlier today. Turns out it was nothing to do with Easy. Dave |
Just to point out that the article was in April's issue, the rego on the 747 is I-GOTU, they're hopeful of launching on April the 1st, and leasing the aircraft form Dodo (dead as) Air. Need we way more:p :p

God, I'm more stupid than even I thought ! Oh well I'm only a pilot.......

B74s and LTN
Hang on a minute.,..
Was there not an issue with B747s and Luton? Seem to belive in adequate RFS provision and lots of other issues regarding loaded B74s into LTN hanging here. Not to mention the Atlas B74F that went in there recently and had problems with loading equipment. AtlasAir (problems..??) |
The two 747-300’s that came into Luton yesterday had no problems. They were parked on the new north apron that was built with enough depth to park them on but who is to say that easyJet would operate them from here. More likely to be Stansted or Gatwick.

The 747 looks great in the EZY colour scheme:D :E :D |
Eaaaassssy Now
Can't believe you fell for the April fools joke, as stated reg is I-GOTU. Quote from Airliner World: The wet lease carriers cheif executive and Irish Industy verteran Ray O'Plodfails confirmed to Airliner world "We are hopeful we can launch on April the 1st but we still have a tight dealine to get the operation up an running that morning" Ray O'Plodfails......... anagram of.......... April Fools Day |
Ok folks, probably a stupid question but anyway...
Is there any obvious reason why EJ (or any similar operator) would not use widebodies ? Assuming they have enough pax to fill them is there any obvious reason not to fly big planes on short flights ? |
You have all got it wrong:
News embargo until April 1st. Now to launch low cost service from Luton with B747's! |
Wondered why NOW had gone quiet. Is this really a serious suggestion theat NOW will launch with 747s?
|
Buster,
Great wind up for April 1. Understand all seats to be offered at the same price, FREE. |
