Malaysia Airlines to get A380's

It was announced yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airlines will get 6 Airbus A380-800 aircraft starting in 2007.

The purchaser will be Perbangan Malaysia Berhad, the government investment rescue unit, who will lease them to Malaysia Airlines.

The deal is valued at US$ 1,5 billion, with a probable offset to CTRM in Malacca.

Malaysia currently operates 3 daily services to Heathrow, and sees the growth of the next few years justifying the purchase of these aircraft.
