2001 BA pull out of Northern Ireland
2002 BA pull out of Wales

I hope I'm wrong but it could be that in 2003 the company name changes to England Airways.

BA say that this all jet strategy is based on the American model well the US is nearly forty times the size of the UK and has almost five times as many people.Does the company not have enough quality managers to develop a strategy tailored to the UK?

Just read back over threads and the goss on Newquay and Plymouth is that Air Wales is interested in the route and that the dash 8's will defo be ditched, should find out in Jan.

Original news was that Sutton Harbour was interested but seeing as they couldn't arrange a p*** up in a brewery there were a lot of worried staff.

I'm not sure if any of the RJ's have the steep approach mod, but not sure it's required on the RJ in the same way as the 146 ??

Certainly CityFlyer were operating in and out of places like Sion (Charter flights) with no problems, so don't think LCY would be a problem in this respect?

Not sure...am not an engineer so am quite happy to be corrected regarding the mod status.

The RJ's need the mod and they will get it in the handover to BACE AOC check.

Here's my prediction for CWL.....

Now BA have left, bmiBaby and Air Wales will have the place to themselves, and if, as they seem to want to, stay off each other's lawns, they should both do OK....

Now... at some point in the next two years, the halfwits at WaterWorld are going to notice Air Wales and bmiB at CWL - and indeed, how well Eastern are doing.

"Oh!!!!", the numpties will say - "routes that makes money that we don't do. I know - let's codeshare with Air Wales and Eastern (we must ignore bmiBaby, because that nasty Sir Michael Bishop has something to do with that, and we've never let BA customers come between us and a good feud)".....

And lo... codeshare will lead to "franchise".
And franchise will lead to "part ownership".
And part ownership will lead to "management presence".
And management presence will lead to "partnership"
And partnership will lead to "ownership"

And Mystic TwinAisle will say "told you so", and the people at Air Wales and Eastern will be sore afraid..... and BA will buy back all those J41s for more than they sold em for, because they'll need those at CWL....

..... and those nice repainted ATRs, which will go to Gatwick, will be replaced with a few spare J41s at CWL, and then they will announce that no, they were wrong, and despite their best efforts, you can't make any money at CWL, and they'll close the base and give fatuous interviews for the local press.

And there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth by their customers, and on PPRUNE....

Round, and round, and round.....

God help us..... you heard it here first.
