Just means a tight turnaround with a delayed Southend arrival time will conform with the section 106 agreement while a realistic arrival time won’t.

EZY have released flights through to the middle of June 25. Looks like the same as this year with regard to EJU away based aircraft.

With all the new routes to follow this is such a turnaround. Life is like a box of chocolates as someone once said.

I wouldn't take much notice of the times as published just yet. As you say they just release the same as this year and all the changes will follow at a later date. That happens every year.

The holidays show a better but still not final indication. All the EJU stuff operating in S24 again is just copied over for S25 with any new/additional stuff on top.

SEN-ALC for example is showing at 5x weekly on Holidays for S25 with new Sun, Wed and Thu rotations on SEN based aircraft. The existing 2x weekly Mon and Fri is just copied over as per the rest of the existing flight schedule for S24 so they'll probably change.

This weekend could be one of the busiest weekends in recent history for London Southend as the Champions League Final comes to London, with over 20 BizAv movements booked in (they are still receiving bookings so this number is subject to change and could be even higher), the passenger terminal will also be open overnight on the Saturday to accommodate Airbus & Boeing aircraft for various charter movements that have been pencilled in, it looks set to be a great weekend for the airport and the local spotters/enthusiasts alike.

Rochford district councillor for Roche South, Mike Steptoe, (pictured inset) said: “Southend Airport is incredibly well placed for access to London, they reckon that the moment you step off the plane it is 20 minutes through customs to the train and then it is around an hour to London.
Southend might be well placed for London but is not so well placed for Wembley as Google maps shows a journey of 1 hour 42 minutes and 54 miles to the ground. Whoever wins the match Southend looks like the real winner.

Early doors for Carlyle but so far the management are on the ball and the workforce are giving it 110%.

Whilst correct on the journey time from SEN, for balance Wembley is over 1h20 from Heathrow, 1h30 (+ possible North terminal transfer) from Gatwick and about 1h40 from Stansted. So, no significant disadvantage and given likely quick processing and short walk out the terminal Southend will certainly beat Stansted and Gatwick and would probably beat Heathrow. The best journeys are tied between City and Luton on around 1h15.

All better than Cardiff, which evidently is also receiving flights.

The first charter flight is now showing on flight radar, a TUI Netherlands Boeing 737 Max 8 with an arrival time of 09:30 AM on the 1st of June and a scheduled departure time of 05:00 AM on the 2nd of July, operating between Madrid and London Southend.

Looks like fans will be segregated by airport - at least for charters. The following is from UEFA website:

If you are on a chartered flight from Spain you will arrive at either London Southend Airport or Stansted Airport.

From the airport we strongly recommend using public transport for your onwards journey. You can reach London Liverpool Street station within an hour.

🚆 London Southend Airport ➡️ London Liverpool Street - 60 mins via Greater Anglia services
🚆 Stansted Airport ➡️ London Liverpool Street - 50 mins via Stansted Express
🚇 London Liverpool Street ➡️ Wembley Stadium - 30 mins on Metropolitan Line

I thought it would be difficult to get back to Southend but the last train is at 01:20 which hopefully will get the job done.

Last train leaves at 23:59. After that there is a 1.46 that takes over 5 hours and 2 changes to reach the airport.

I would have thought that the majority of fans on charter flights would go to/from Wembley on chartered buses.

Last train leaves 00:50 normally on Saturday. The following is again from UEFA website:

For London Southend Airport:

🚇 Wembley Park ➡️ London Liverpool Street: 30 mins on the Metropolitan Line
🚅 London Liverpool Street ➡️ London Southend Airport: 60 mins using Greater Anglia services
⏱️Trains will run from London Liverpool Street to London Southend Airport every half hour until 01:20.

Must be a special or two running.

Last train leaves Liverpool Street at 01:20 arriving SEN at 02:06. Regular tubes from Wembley Park to Liverpool Street to connect. As I recall the airport own the stations and track so probably not an issue laying on extras to facilitate.

Gosh I wish that was the case. It owns Southend Airport Station, that is correct.

That train is a Special stopping at Stratford only and operated for that specific purpose.

That will definitely make things tight (squeaky bum time in football parlance). I suppose we should be grateful that there are trains running. I believe a certain London airport has none this weekend.

CEO John Upton stepping down from role at Southend Airport. With immediate effect I believe.
