Jamesair1..Although the Dart may be a positive step for some, bear in mind that none of the local residents are ever likely to use it (yet we are the ones who are dealing with reductions in Council services due to the continual bale-out of the airport by the Council via LLAL)
As for the terminal experience improving....don't hold your breath!

The Dart will clearly improve the customer experience for those that will use it and will be a big day for the airport when it eventually opens. In contrast the terminal customer experience is set to get worse with the planning application for 19m passengers with zero changes planned for the terminal.
As for the directors, they sit on the committee for the airport but are called directors. For all the other council committees they would be called members. No qualifications are needed to be a director but they do need to be a councillor. LLAL does have a director who is an advisor but he doesn’t get a vote.
Government pressure with their investigation though is already having an effect. For the first time LLAL now has a separate CEO as up to now the CEO of the Council and LLAL has always been the same person. The new LLAL CEO is being paid a salary not by LLAL but by the Luton taxpayer so how can that be right?

An Easyjet A319 looked disabled on the runway when viewed from around a half a mile away, as it was surrounded by a large selection of vehicles. Incident lasted maybe 30 minutes as flights have just resumed at around 9:35

What queues
Landed about 7:20pm last night on Wizz air and was in my car by 7:45pm. Staff seemed friendly and helpful, all the egates were working and the family line was well staffed also. Seemed my document “check” by the check-in staff in Poland glancing at my Test result and PLF was what the UK rely on now.

Well with news that WZZ put in an offer to buy EZY, luton would see the biggest benefit or loss? I'm sure workforce would be worried with their T&C?

The offer to buy EZY has been rejected by the Board as opportunistic and at too low a price. It was a single "take it or leave it" offer as I understand, and the source wasn't disclosed.

No smoke without fire. CX paving the way for shareholders to accept a diminishing equity in the airline with yet another sale of shares to finance the winter, or an attractive offer for existing stakeholders? With Stelios in discussions to buy new aircraft for a start up airline and then rumours of Wizz selling the UK arm of the combined operation to IAG, something is certainly going on, could we see a massive consolidation this winter? Just because the first offer was rejected and Stephen Hester moving into easyJet soon, something is afoot!

Making false claims on this forum is wrong!
I and others are looking forward to using the Dart service from Parkway to airport. Just because you individuals are negative individual's and anti airports you should not make assumptions! Shame on you all for using this forum for some political gain! If I had my way the airport would have achieved 45 million passengers per year prior to the pandemic! Could Luton achieve such figures? I say yes!

In your dreams anything is possible. As for 45m? Not in your lifetime but then when Luton was operating year after year at 1.8m I would have made the same comment regarding 18m.
Regarding riding the Dart, I am looking forward to my invite. I saw it operating today at a walking pace so it still seems to have issues. Maybe time for a construction update this weekend?

LBS...If the Dart really floats your boat, then great.....give them some of your money to ride on it as they are going to need plenty to repay all the loans.
I can assure you as a local I can see absolutely no need to use it. This isn't negativity - just reality!
As for the false claims and political gain nonsense...I think its time to accept that others have rather different views to you and are justifiably concerned at what has been going on at the Council/LLAL.

Construction update
The word "Airport" has been dropped from the Dart station at Parkway

Escalators have been installed at Parkway to take passengers from street level to the Dart and railway tracks.

At Central station work continues. On the artists impressions a row of ticket barriers will sit where the temporary fence is located. Note the lack of weather protection once outside the station. The multi story remains closed in the background.

Lifts and fire escapes from the platforms. Passengers from the drop off zone will have to walk around the station and not use this section as a short cut.

Double width plate glass has been fitted to the top of the concrete walls.

Part of the station forecourt.

Two sets of ticket barriers should stop them.
As for Luton Dart Parkway who wouldn’t know Dart stood for Direct Air Rail Transport. Actually I would say no one would know.

Around a year or two ago there was active discussion about dropping the word “Airport” from the railway station so Luton Airport Parkway would become Luton Parkway Station. The thinking was that it would encourage more passengers heading to the airport to buy a through ticket via the Dart as too many passengers are buying separate tickets for the final mile. I suspect Luton Dart Parkway is part of that plan.
This reminds me of the campaign by the airport for 4 non stop trains an hour. They must have been very disappointed to only get 2 using inferior commuter stock trains.
Worth watching the campaign video in this link as what could have been.

Meanwhile Thameslink describe the Dart station at Parkway as a terminal. Also the artists impression does not have the word Airport on the building.https://www.thameslinkrailway.com/ab...irport-parkway
