Blue Air now seem to have been consigned to history. Their fleet is dispersed following regulatory issues in Romania.
None of their Luton routes was uncontested, so Wizz will pick up the demand, but what of the slots?

I do wonder how Ryebridge win every single contract for groundwork. Whether it be runway resurfacing, new taxiways, to the new forecourt at LAP, they get every job and it has been that way for years. Some suspect that they are just awarded the contracts without tendering.

There's probably been some sort of previous tendering arrangement when you effectively bid to become the 'preferred supplier' for a period of time for specific categories of work - this means you don't have to separately tender for each piece of work.

Back to airline matters, I notice a couple of football charters are operating out of Luton which would normally be operated out of Stansted. A Thomson flight to Marseille on Tuesday (Spurs supporters) and a West Ham flight to Bucharest on Thursday. Is the Stansted runway closed already, I thought it will be closed for just two nights in November

Ryebridge will have a good amount of plant & machinery already onsite which will reduce costs all around. If it went to another supplier then all that would needed to be taken offside and another suppliers equipment brought in. Not very green!
There is also the continuities of working with the same team members.

And there was I thinking that Easyjet is a Luton based airline and is Luton’s second biggest carrier. Yes I agree, nothing to do with this threat.
