OY-SNS has been operating out of EMA no doubt doing similar. RVL are based here and amongst other things operate survey aircraft.

Again today, Ravenair flying east/west over northeast London/south east Essex.

Ravenair - how are you justifying flying right now? Surely you don't fall into the essential worker category unless you are obscurely surveying in relation to covid-19?

I can't comment on Ravenair's contracts because I have no idea what they are. But speaking generally, flights of this sort often do relate to essential tasks. Some relate to police or security matters. Some monitor the water table to monitor areas which are prone to flooding ... that itself was a major issue as recently as February. Railway overhead wires are surveyed for faults from the air. Electricity lines too. There are significant safety implications if these inspections are not carried out. I'm sure there are countless other applications which I've not mentioned here. But I do call out the assumption that only matters directly relating to combatting COVID-19 are essential. Safety related matters beyond the C-19 crisis are important too. Don't just presume that those conducting these tasks are not carrying out essential work. They're not pleasure flights.

Two of them out surveying London right now, OY-SNS and G-RVNP, taking advantage of clear and empty skies

Ravenair Partenavias fly these survey missions a lot, I've often wondered if they pass on images for Google Maps?
Anther company flies a Navajo in similar patterns up, down and around VORs, maybe VOR/ILS calibration exercises?
The drone G-TEKV is busy on FR24 up and down the Channel most early mornings (between 2300-0330 off the coast of Dover/Folkestone, presumably Border Control?
