Air New Zealand

I see they're flying LHR - CHristchurch VIA SIN 1st Dec 2019 - 22nd Feb 2019

If only they'd add Wellington and Auckland as well....................

Could the runway at WLG cope with an aircraft loaded with enough fuel to get it to SIN?

...almost back to the RTW trip that used to be possible with ANZ (LHR-LAX-AKL-HKG-LHR, or vv) which I did with them around 10 years ago.

Has there ever been a LHR (or LON in general) - CHC direct service previously? I believe SQ and EK are the only long-haul visitors (aside from NZ themselves) to South Island currently?

Performance was always pretty limited off that 4,000 foot runway at Alakanuk.

Sorry, couldn't resist

I think you are getting a little excitable and there is no such news on Air NZ flying to London from Christchurch!

They are starting a seasonal 5x weekly service ONLY between Christchurch and Singapore using a 787! Singapore Airlines already fly the same route twice daily and this is the one stop connection option to London, Europe and elsewhere in Asia, along with the Emirates option.
