Been on the cards for a long time, had a few good staff, but most senior management unqualified to run a sensible operation, the island is only big enough for 1 airline based there

I hope that was a comment made in bad taste humour given that a load of people are just about to lose their jobs. If it wasn't, and you genuinely want a discussion about which airline is next to fall, I've only one thing to say - please don't. Speculating on who may be next to fall is hugely unsettling for the people involved, and it can sometimes create a problem that didn't exist before if an airline which has survival prospects inadvertently becomes a target for rumours.

Oh dear Albert, lighten up it is old fashioned British banter. Not to be taken to seriously. The best thing in adversity is to try and laugh about it, dust your self down and get on with it. I do not know what is happening to the UK, cannot even say cheer up to somebody now in the street it might be classed as harassment, what a load of tosh! Hola and bonjour to everybody!

Albert is dead right, seen it happen.. The rumours lead to more speculation, doubt and eventual refusal to supply goods and services. It is very irresponsible to speculate about this kind of thing. Just imagine yourself in this situation. Not a laughing matter.

I don’t agree, it’s not a suggestion of a specific airline going under, no airline was named.
We all know It’s not the first or the second airline to go under and we all know it’s certainly not the last.
we all have knowledge and thoughts who will be next and it’s a fact that there will be a next.
we all feel for all crew and passengers caught up in this latest collapse but we all know the next one will come.
Please don’t censor people’s comments on here who have already censored there post by not naming who they think will be next.

It’s a discussion point best left in private conversations, not public forums. Foremost you have the issue of sensitivity for people directly involved, whether staff, contractors or suppliers. Secondly, rightly or wrongly the media see places like this as a source of news. Thirdly, you have uninformed amateurs who will arrive with uninformed speculation which also gets picked up by lurking journos etc and from there it all snowballs.

The post was censored by the poster and what Airline next !! Was not a Question as it was not followed by a ?? It was merely a phrase, like when a child keeps injuring its self and does it again and again a mother would say oh no what next.
lets just leave this here and move on.

Best wishes to all the crew and hope you find another job quickly.

Someone said at the start of this thread that Cyprus was only big enough for one airline to be based there? What is the other airline? Ryanair?

If you were to post once a week on PPRuNe saying that an unidentified airline will fail soon, you'd be right more often than wrong.

According to an article on ch.aviation Cobalt have asked for a temporary license so that it can sort it's finances out so that it can continue trading, the article is behind a paywall so I haven't read it fully but I'm sure we're read more on this in the coming week.
