Wideroe are adding a 3rd flight Bergen-Liverpool-Bergen, as of November the extra flight will run on Sundays.

Alsie Express are running a charter over the weeked of 8/11 November from Sonderborg in Denmark. Sonderborg has a metro population of about 75,000 so definitely not a large city. Alsie normally fly shuttles back and forth between Sonderborg and either Copenhagen or (in summer) the Danish holiday island of Bornholm, which is a bit like a Danish version of the Isle of Wight

Liverpool are playing at home to Manchester City on 9 November, so presumably aimed at the football crowd. Publicly available match tickets seem to have all sold out so this might have an effect on demand for flights... !

There seems to be quite a bit of interest from Scandinavia for flights to Liverpool for football. Charters are quite regular, plus there is the Wideroe service from Bergen, which will increase this winter.

And the underlying statistics backing up your post are what, Cabin Crewe? Please advise how many passengers using the MAN - Ljubljana would be averse to using LPL- Ljubljana given the short distance between the two airports?

Why would you say that !? Wideroe another new route has been doing quite nicely and have been running LPL-BGO for over a year now, just adding a 3rd rotation too.

Can't for the life of me think of a reason...

Oh, hold on; last night's Adria Ljubljana to Vienna, with 38 booked on it, was cancelled because on arrival, the Austrian authorities were going to impound the aircraft for non-payment of EU261.

Yes, Adria really is that much of a basket case right now.

Adria Airways had yesterday at the last minute to cancel an evening flight from Ljubljana to Vienna. Reason? At the finish they waited for bailiffs and police officers who were trying from our airline to recover outstanding debts. But the plane never arrived in Vienna.

What was implied was Adria would do better at MAN than LPL. Nothing to do with the airline itself.

I got the implication that rearranging the deck chairs was in no way going to help the airline get out of what looks like terminal woes (excuse the pun...)

It's been announced today that Peel and Liverpool City Council have sold a combined 45% stake in Liverpool Airport (35% Peel, 10% LCC). The buyer is a London-based infrastructure investment manager, Alcana.

Peel and Liverpool City Council sell 45% stake in Liverpool Airport

Will be interesting to see if this leads to any release of funds for additional investment in facilities.

Or, given Alcana's raison d'être, a lot of wind turbines and solar panels where the runway is now?
