I think, in theory, yes. However, when I transferred earlier this year (Glasgow to Dublin then Dublin to Frankfurt-Hahn) with only hand baggage, I had to go back through security again.
Disgraceful that there is immigration at Carlisle for flights from Dublin. Only Special Branch scrutiny is required AFAIK. Maybe practising for Brexit ;=)

Its very frustrating reading this thread on Carlisle hearing peoples negativity and showing little or no support for a new venture. We all know that small airports struggle especially in the beginning but whats to really say that Carlisle wont work.
Im sure some decent research in to passenger demand, routes and the right airline have gone in to the project. What this airport needs is support and positive views/suggestions to get it up and running. I live and work in the Lake District and can assure you that albeit the weather is less favorable in the winter tourism is booming and the winter moths are no exception. Carlisle is well situated for the whole of the Lake District, Cumbria and the Borders. Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow are all lengthy journeys from the Lakes. Traffic to and from these airports is congested and expensive to use. Half the time trains from the Lakes to the airports don't run on time, run at inconvenient times and are always full and expensive to use. The comments I hear on the London route are all similar. You are not in central London, you have to get a train. When you fly into Heathrow you have to get on either a train or the tube. The train is the express train which comes at a price and the tube takes in the region of 45-50 minutes. Some suggest that the train from Southend is almost quicker than those other options with an average journey time of 56 minutes and less airport congestion and with fares starting from £5.
As the project leader of Carlisle said they are making baby steps and building up from the ground. They have a modern facility, good location and Loganair is a fantastic airline who is doing particularly well in the current climate. I wish Carlisle the best of luck and luck and look forward to flying out of there soon. I appreciate that most of my post is personal views but public support goes along way.

I wish CAX and Loganair every success.
Oh, and EN will do just nicely to hop off elsewhere to Europe.
For the record, a £4.75m grant from the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership was secured to upgrade the runway and facilities in 2017.

Spot on. From my personal perspective, it's great having an airport only 20 minutes away by car! Getting down to London now is so.o.o easy. No longer a schlepp down the roadworks infested M6. Or sitting scrunched up for hours on end on a train.

Bucket & spade aka Holiday flights.
I know NCL and GLA are just 'up t'road' but its its just a bit of blue sky thinking that it'd be a nice, quick way to the south coast at least.
It'd avoid the M6, the car.park that is the M6/M5 junction and that l o n g drag down the M5 which has its own major bottlenecks.
And NQY would be nice too.

Busier than had been expected. I'm told BHD is in high 20's each way and looking at possible second rotation but not sure how that fits unless DUB. getting the chop or using the spare nyxair maybe. SEN very buoyant loads

Not even sure ( sorry a little off topic but with walney being ' close ' it brought , IOM to kind , I don't recall even seeing it from LBA , DSA did have it and doing ok but sadly links air didn't last especially after crashing landing their aircraft .
But those old time tables , how times have changed !

And as for Carlisle, I've mentioned here before, myself n partner got chatting and a tour of the airfield tower and museum , plus a quick peek on a second visit to the new terminal , but the first time , their airport manager greeted us , I explained I was very interested and supported it then being local .
He told us then that they had offered easyJet the same deal they gave them to start at Southend and hoped that they could get services running , Interestingly he also implied talks with Ryanair ( he said a certain Irish airline ), I asked was that the harp or shamrock, he said well not the shamrock .
Trouble is they would need to do some extra work and change anning, however Intersting easyJet hiring in an Ejet to help cover , but it could be a ' toe I. The water ' to perhaps look at capturing the market , for regional jets as Flybe ( Virgin connect ) switch to Dash8 only ops . Maybe they might look at the A220 but both would be ok for CAX under the current restrictions.
Like folk ha e said it's a new start, baby steps .
It is just far enough from Edi, Gla, Man etc for the likes of Galloway the southern borders , all of Cumbria , and the Lakeland area , though I'm.a bit surprised that no one had started regular business only flights from walney for the BAE systems type flights.
Like at Wharton.
Trouble is for CAX it's not easy to reach from Barrow, but likely still closrer than Manchester.
Still i.wish them luck .

No need to chop anything - the last flight of the day lands at 17:40.. there's all evening to add a second flight.

SWBKCB is making the perfectly valid point that the schedule currently finishes relatively early in order to allow a single crew to carry out the full day's flying within their flight duty time limits. So adding more flying later in the day would require a second crew (not impossible by any means, just the cost of the extra crew). Why would one add a second aircraft before fully utilising the first?
I thought the schedule was designed around the ATCO availability after last year's problems. Early starts and late finishes will require more staff all round - airport, crew and ATC - so it might actually be easier to add more flights within the current opening hours profile with a second aircraft than to extend the day, particularly with aircraft that have low capital costs.

Pipe Dream
Just thinking - CAX - NQY - SEN (??) - NQY - CAX would take care of No2.
Eeeh - Egremont to Newquay caravan in what, c4 hrs (ish)? Better than ALL bloomin' day!! Only did that once. Scarred me for life.
Might only be Summer service though. ;-)
