To ease the pain somewhat you can travel First Class for about £25.00.

I also don’t get the obsession with Liverpool Street. Stratford is reached 10 mins quicker and has quick and easy connections to Docklands, Canary Wharf, Greenwich, Lewisham, London Bridge, Waterloo, Westminster, the City, West End, Hackney, Islington, Camden, Richmond...so pretty much anywhere in London you would want to go!

The news link doesn’t work - embargoed?

Is the government regional route funding tied to the route or airline?

I thought it was the airline, so I was expecting "Stobart Air, operated by X"

Just out of interest, is that 8-sector schedule do-able with a single flight crew? Presume it must be because they must surely be basing a crew at Carlisle.

Two crews per day with an average of 2 days off per week so a 2.5 or 3 crew operation

It would be good if one of Loganair's D328s could operate the SEN service where speed versus the train seems an issue.
